Wow SS is really dragging this tease out. They must be really proud of this one. So I hope the figure reflects that.

Oh I agree. But even as a stellar figure, I don't see this guy as being worth > 199.99.

Given what I expect he will include,

1 lit saber
1 unlit saber
1 Head, normal.
1 head with reveal helmet
1 Extra Helmet stand
1 pair fists
1 pair relaxed hands
1 pair gripping hands
1 pair force gesture hands
1 pair "resting on belt" hands
1 set of "crossed" hands
2-3 assorted "other" hand, not in pairs
1 Pair flat feet
1 pair of "action posed" feet.
Costume

that's fairly standard fare for sideshow. I just don't see how that's worth more than 184.99. THOUGH, I CAN see sideshow pushing it an extra 15 or so, JUST BECUASE it's vader.

Hence, 199.99

Then again, I also don't think Anything Hot toys makes is worth what they charge these days either.

Either/or, that's what rewards points are for I soppose.

I think well see a light up saber and hand like the recent Ep. 1 Obi Wan. And Im pretty sure we may see a dio base with this one.

Im banking on or around $225 on this one.

Like I said SS seems pretty proud of this one so Im sure the cost will reflect that.

How do you figure this will be over 200? Becuase I Doubt it, but we will see.

there is NOTHING about this that makes me think it'll be that much.

IF it is, Then this is probably when the 1/6th bubble finaly starts to break.

It'll be odd, that it's sideshow, and not Hot tyos that does it, if that's the case, however.

I'm guessing this will come right in at $199.99-225. Look at Snake Eyes in the GI Joe line, no one ever thought one of those would come in that high either. Granted, Snake Eyes comes with Timber but he's also not quite as Iconic as Vader in Pop-Culture world. I'd be shocked if this were less than $200.

As far as that being the 'Bubble Breaking Point', I don't think that will be the case either simply for the fact that many of these figures fetch far more than retail on the secondary market and have been for some time. The first Vader release was going for around $300 on a regular basis for a while and I saw a few go as high as $500. Both Hot Toys and Sideshow know this. Sideshow historically has tried to come in around $50-75 lower than a typical HT release and most of those have been in the $250-300 range recently.

So having said all of that I think Vader comes in between $199-225. Glad I've been saving my points to help soften the blow.

I'm happy to see they made improvements and the full reveal and preorder date is not to far off.
A full reveal today would've been preferable but the new Deluxe Clone troopers make up for that. :)

If they were add a second headsculpt i like it to be a battle damaged shaw sculpt for the exclusive .

Give me Battle Damage and its a order. I want him, but I want his helmet off. I have 7 DV 3.75 and I have to say the ones that have BD, Helmet off and I cannot spell his name (Looks more Evil) are the best. Then again who am I joking. You know we ALL are going to order it.

As for price $190 same as the other one. Still don't know if I will still keep the other one. I have a feeling I will. After all I am now done with Ironman. My PF for 2013 has also been ordered.

It's funny you would say this. I was told last year. The last day of SDCC this would go onsale. Now it will go on say this year SDCC

FYI, The Clone's are now $160 Commander Wolf. The last 3 before that was $150 each.

welp, one way or another, we will find out in a few days. just glad he' NOT coming with a light-up saber.

The one that came with obi was ***.

What can Vader POSSIBLY include to make this guy Hot toys level of stupidity in pricing?

That.

You keep posting about how there can be nothing making him more expensive than other releases... as if you're pleading with the top bosses at Sideshow. I got news for you.. the price has already been set and that's what it'll be. This guy is easily going to be $200 or more.

Obviously I hope it'll be as low as possible so I can nab multiples, but there's no need to try to work logic into these 1/6 prices hahahaha.

it's on the picture.

"Lighting Added for effect"

also, the light-up saber that came with Obi was an expieriment. to see how it would go.

in short, it did NOT go well.

poorly executed, poor lighting.
Fragile
unlit Looks bad.
when it's lit up, light is not bright enough.
Looks like a 1/6th version of the 20$ hasbro flashlight toys at Toys r us.
It's VERy bright at the hilt, but fades as it goes up, to basicly not even being on at about 1/2 way. ( even in a dark room)

How hard can it be right?

Lighting added for effect for this picture, yeah. Doesn't mean it still won't be included. Could still be. Well find out soon enough though.
