Yeah, makes his arms look beefier too. I get that his gloves flared at the end, but over doing it seems to highlight any skinniness.

I felt that way as well.... I was terrified to see the mask come off because I expected it to be grotesque.

I don't think Medi Vader is that bad... But I really want the Sideshow version. It's a shame the scale, again. (Both Medi and sideshow)

Always hated the Medi Vader. Looked completely off to me and undersized. Just didn't get why people were saying it's the ultimate Vader. Just my opinion.

I don't think both Medi Vader or Sideshow Vader are the ultimate Vader. The figures have its flaws.

Totally fine hey every piece has it's flaws but for me the Medi Vader was a horrible representation of Vader for $299.99. That's some crazy price tag. The older Sideshow Vader including this updated release blows the Medi away by a long shot. Like I stated just my opinion. Never got the hype and love for the Medi. Just don't get it.

I got the Medi Vader at normal price from Japan, not import price. Shipping would have been about $15 more. Would never get him at $300.
I don't see anything that makes me want it over the Medicom unless I get Sideshow storm/snowtroopers. So this one at $250, I don't think I want it. Maybe when episode 3 Vader comes back round. By then mine would be all flakey and time to renew.

Really? The Medi isn't even accurate really. I look at it as it's too cartoony looking. I know that's just my opinion but the new SS Vader is way better. Blows the Medi to the ground. You get more for the price and is updated. You really don't need troopers but I'm guessing SS will release newly improved ones soon. You would wait for an Episode 3 Vader by the time your Medi flakes and bites the dust instead of getting the new SS version?? Really? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I just want a lot of other things, and already have Vader in several lines. But you know I still come back to look at pics, and been pulling Medi out to play (as well as Tomy). However the price of this has also made me start looking at statues...

I got the Medi for our boy. He loves it as he can't tell the difference and it looks exactly like the Vader on his character book of all SW movies including the ROTS Vader, which is what the Medi looks most like, IMHO.

I got my Medi Vader for 185.00 and the likeness of Vader without a mask is SPOT ON. The talking is great for our boy, and it's a cool figure for him. For me, got to be SS.
I want to make a new cape for the Medi Vader, though.

I have all Medi Vaders and a modified SS ANH Vader (custom cape and dome). When futzed, Medi Vader looks alright and I even prefer it to my ANH Vader. However, NONE of the figures are even near perfect. Which is amazing considering the importance of the character and the amount of source material out there.
I honestly think it is an issue of preferring to release a figure that is "good enough" than continually tweaking it until perfection. I refuse to believe that the talented artists at sideshow cannot see the inaccuracies in the costume, especially the dome and mask. I think a conscious decision is made to release what the have at a certain point rather than pouring more money into it. Perhaps there is another reason than that, but I can't think of any reasonable justification considering Sideshow has already released a number of Vader products (all inaccurate) and should at least be closer to having this down.

Medicom make some nice figures, but they're not 1/6 scale, so they are as good to me as the old Applause figures.
Looks like giant Yoda likes what he sees back there.

I don't think Kid Vader is too bad, he's just a 1/6 kid in a not so good looking Vader costume. He's got something I like but nothing is worth the price I paid him 6 o7 years ago....
The old SS ANH out of box was decent, with Hasbro dome already better...with custom cape and a KP-02 there's no match at all.
This new SS with no mods destroys the Medi one IMHO, but sadly he needs at least a new body.
