I don't completely understand the whole inches thing (I'm on the metric side of the earth), but my modded KP-02+Hasbro Dome Vader is 33,9cm, that according to online converters are 13.34 inches.

Then it's perfect according to Star Wars wiki. It seems like most people agree with Prowse about his height. Most actors will say they are 6ft when they are really 5'11" but who knows what Vader's height is supposed to be.

I say if you're happy with it leave it be. Me? I'll be modding mine.

Don't think Prowse had any reason to exaggerate his height. He was 6' 6" out of costume and every reference I've seen says 6' 9" in costume. Personally I wouldn't go with the Wiki as their height may be idealized for the character and not Prowse in actual costume. Also, the math is not that hard. If Prowse was 81" tall, you divide by 6...

It is worth reposting to prove how Vader is the man and that other imaginary EU Sith wannabe can't hold a candle to him. :) :monkey1

Yeah he ain't no Vader or Maul but I've got to say he's a beautifully realised Sith villain IMO.
Incidentally I absolutely loath the Expanded universe. Sometimes though you have to just hold your hands up and say well done!
Can't wait for mine anyway :)
Still holding fire on in-hand pics of Vader though. The nit picks are are larger in number than the positives :/

What is this KP02 body and where can they be found? I saw one on eBay for $120... that's not gonna happen in my house.

I would like to repost this as I am also wondering if KP02 bodies can be found without resorting to ebay.

If you can get him down to 13.25 or 13.5 inches, you'll noticeably improve him.

Hmmmmmmm....

I just posted that Prowse himself said he was 6' 9" in costume (could you post links to the 202 CM/79.5" -- I've never seen that). That's 81"/6 = 13.5".

You want links...?

That's just a start but I've seen the 202 cm numbers for decades. Same as I've seen Han's height always being 185 cm. On cards, figure backs; just about anywhere there are character stats that give height.

https://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Vader's_armor

Says he, as in Vader not Prowse, is 6'8".

202cm=79.52in
79.52in=6.62ft
6.75ft=6ft 9in

(1)Subtract 79, the number of whole inches.

79.52 - 79 = .52

(2)Multiply .52 x 16 to get the number of 16th's inches remaining.

.52 x 16 = 8.32

8.32 = the number of 16th's of an inch. This is the numerator of the fraction. Apply the rules for rounding.

8.32 rounds to 8 because .32 is less than .5

Therefore, 79.52in. =(approximately) 79 and 8/16ths inch(es) (You may have to reduce.)

Vader is 79 and 1/2in
78in=6ft 6in
79in=6ft 7in
79.5in= 6ft 7 1/2in
Almost 6'8"

Not saying it's correct but that's what the Star Wars wiki says and it's been printed on Star Wars figures for years.

That's crazy math, but isn't the answer what I just said?

Sol, see above.

What? Lol jk hate math. You my friend are a mathimite

Oh yeah. Almost forgot.
6ft 8in=80 inches
80 divided by 6=13.33inches

(1)Subtract 13, the number of whole inches.

13.33 - 13 = .33

(2)Multiply .33 x 16 to get the number of 16th's inches remaining.

.33 x 16 = 5.28

5.28 = the number of 16th's of an inch. This is the numerator of the fraction. Apply the rules for rounding.

5.28 rounds to 5 because .28 is less than .5

Therefore, 13.33in. =(approximately) 13 and 5/16ths inch(es) (You may have to reduce.)

So just over 13 1/4 inches. Maybe 13 and 1/3 inches if you can calculate that.

Thing with those in-universe wikis and stats cards is that they're not necessarily measuring Prowse in costume, but 'Vader' as a character, so I don't find them as reliable as say Prowse, himself. Anyway, he says 6' 9", as do a number of other sources that were discussing him in costume, so that's what I will go with. Really not interested in thinking about it again until we start seeing the figure in-hand and the mods start rolling in.

I know, I just grabbed those two links because they came up (I knew someone would discount them) but trust me, for years and years Vader's height has been marketed as 202 cm. I basically learned centimeter conversion in the 90's trying to sort the figure heights for my Star Wars collection of characters (much like people are doing now).

But you don't have to know much or be a mathematician to see that the Sideshow Vader is clearly oversized.

Yep, that's the photo which made my heart sink. It looks RIDICULOUS when posed with normal sized Imperial Officers or Stormtrooper figures.
Thankfully, the KP02 will sort that sucker out.
I will remove some links from the cape chain too so the cape is pulled tighter together. If you look at the pics from the movie, you'll see that there was only a few cape chain links visible and I'll have the collar positioned underneath the neck line of the mask.

I'm going to try all these things out and will post pics of my ANH / ESB / ROTJ Vader hybrid if it ends up looking any good.
