got my replacement head and chest and belt in, thankfully new belt lights up. now got to figure how to get it on. Also can someone help me with the steps to remove the head. I never removed one before and im worried about breaking something. any help be appreciated.

Make sure not to grab it anywhere near the tusks. I usually put my palm over the dome and wrap my fingers around the neck. Twist and pull.

Or just tilt it forward grip the neck twist and pull.

Anyone who needs a tutorial on gripping his helmet is a very sad man indeed. LOL

Wow, :lol:rotfl:lol

Anyone have either the Legend Studios 1/4 or 1/6 scale display case? If so will Vader fit in the 1/6 case with the base, height-wise? Or will he fit in the 1/4 case with the base width-wise?

I took it as he's just happy for you since you're both "just really nice." ;)

Just so some of us are aware, Sideshow announced on facebook that they are closing their offices early today (at 2:15 PST) to attend a memorial service. So I wouldn't expect any shipping news today.

I just read this on Facebook. Yea tomorrow is the last day of hoping to get that notice. If not, then another long weekend.

Opened mine up tonight to find a broken (and missing) tusk on the face mask...

This might as well be my own photo and comment. Why the hell are so many tusks broken off, and why do they all seem to be the left one? At least I found my tusk stuck to the magic tape across his chest, and the peg that inserts into the mask was not broken. Glued back in place. Thing of beauty.

My cape looks clean though. I may add some liquid stitch to the edge to prevent it from fraying in the future anyway.

I just contacted SS about my cape and tunic and SS is replacing them both, but you have to destroy the old ones. You don’t have to send the old ones back so you don’t have to worry about them giving you a recut cape or tunic.

I was about to suggest the Hasbro VOTC Stormtroopers as a cheaper alternative to build a posse behind Vader. But having just checked prices it seems like these have gone up to ridiculous prices themselves. I picked one up at a reasonable price on Ebay a few years ago, then found another two cheap at a car boot sale.

Original Sideshow version still looks great to me. He's never been knocked off display, while numerous other older Sideshows have been consigned to their boxes.

It's funny that you mention the Hasbro VOTC Stormtrooper because I just received my first one in the mail today.. purchased from eBay. Figured I would use these until Sideshow (or Hot Toys) releases new Stormtrooper figures. I think it looks good. Having never owned the Sideshow or Marmit Stormies I have nothing to compare it to.. you know the saying, ignorance is bliss? lol..

I'll have to see how it looks when the rest of my Stormies arrive and I get Vader. I'm not a super picky person so I might just stick with the Hasbro guys. I know some of the members on here can see all the imperfections and they are probably the ugliest things in the world to them but.. eh.. just might work for me! lol

One lonely trooper.. I still need to find a background for this display as well. Any suggestions?
