Cool, like the snow effect you did, there, jedibear. He looks great with the Snowtroopers, but I'm really looking forward to the day I can have him flanked by Stormtroopers.

Ha, never occurred to me that that was an outdoor shot. Thought you'd photoshopped it, but now that I look closer, I can see the snow on Vader's shoulders. Well done!

Anyone besides King Darkness and TonyMeis try the helmet lowering mod?
I've kind of done the opposite, I raised mine at the front while tilting it backward to achieve a more rotj/esb look, I did it by putting in hot water for a few seconds then applying pressure to the back, and resetting in cold water whilst still applying pressure

Any pictures? Also, did the paint crack after putting it into hot water?

Well, I finally made it over to my mom's today and got my Vader! Happy to report, not a single QC issue on mine....whew! Both tusks intact, no fraying of the cape, no stratches on the helmet, Anakin sculpt nice and straight w/no bent breathing tubes, lights all work...he is perfect! Gotta say, this is Sideshow's best ever! The pics all look great, but he is even better in hand...simply a sight to behold! Absolutely blown away by this one!

"It could be smugglers, it could be....."

"That is the system, and Im sure Skywalker is with them."

That's a good Ozzel.

Have a pic but having trouble uploading, no cracking you just need to put in boiled water for a few seconds, only so the water goes over the brows one into the helm, you will feel the slight give and cool it when happy. Mine now dips just below the back of the neck, I've also moved the shoulder armour in by 5mm to reduce the overly wide shoulders.
because I have the Anh version with the hasbro lowered helm I want to display 2 distinct versions of Vader and making the helm higher at the front helps represent the esb/ Jedi version and reduces the Prince Valiant bowl cut look of the stock version
both below are the same mod, different angle not before after.

Great job, Shocktrooper! Interestingly, those are the three reference pics I usually look to when deciding how to modify past Vaders. Did you also boil the shoulder armor?

Anyway, I have noticed that in ESB and ROTJ (especially ESB), the dome is pushed back so that the front of the dome slopes back. The stock Vader figure does not have a sloping dome and I wonder if that was a mistake made by the design team when deciding how the dome and helmet would attach rather than being the intention of the sculptor.

Agreed. I get why some people take issue with some of the ideas with ROTJ. The second Death Star is kinda lame in the sense they've already did the Death Star thing in the first film, so its not very original, marginalizing Han and making him less "edgy", the sister thing and yeah, the Ewoks.

Ya think? :lol ROTJ was crap.

The shoulders are just velcroed so easy to move, the dome is wrong esp side view and the flare is a bit short, but I don't think there are any suitable swap outs available

Looks much better, Commtech. I'll do the same. So what, did you just put cotton around the arms and wrap masking tape?

Hey Fiend! Yes. I took those make-up cotton pads, put them around the arms and wrapped them with masking tape or painter's tape. Don't put a lot or you won't be able to put the suit back on. ;)

Edit: I forgot to mention. Just make sure not to wrap around the joints or you will of course lose articulation. The way I did it retained full articulation.
