I bet. I was tugging on the suit today and after seeing your pics I was surprised you got that much give out of it. Thanks for the advice. :)

Anyone know if Vader fits into those Legend Studios cases that Sideshow sell? Someone said that Vaders base is 206mm but I'm not sure if that would fit in.

Quick question. My vader came quite alright. The tusk seems to have bent almost slightly (may be the box).

I want to try to straighten it but not sure if it will break? What's people's thoughts on this? I'm pretty useless with mods so I wanted to know if there are any techniques (or if people have attempted anything similar).

I hate broken things and I don't want to have to use glue etc or risk a break.

Nice job on the arms...may try that myself.

In the meantime....

"Imperial Troops have entered the base...."

Love this figure.....

"... That someone closes the dooooooooor!"

Good staging! Really nice shot.
:clap

... In this case it is preferable that you do not touch anything (IMO).

I would proceed as follows:
Boil some water in a small pan, then let it settle off the flame. Carefully dip the tusk in the hot water for about 15 seconds, then immediately pull it out and gently try to bend the tusk straight. You don't have to make the correction in one go. You can dip and bend once, then repeat if needed until it's straight.

If that doesn't work, sell your Vader and buy a Hasbro Jar Jar Binks figure.:rotfl

Then why would you even touch it?

Well the ocd part of me wants it straight but only wanted to try if other people had been successful.

Inwards. I checked just now.....probably gonna leave it as I tend to be heavy handed with things like this. Looks more inward than the other but I guess I would rather leave than risk a complete break

just realised that in addition to a chip on the rear of the shoulder armour which I contacted sideshow about on Thursday that the helmet has not been put together correctly on mine :(

Still love the figure though!

Anyone tried to customize the base? Like change the color to white instead of red?

Seems like a simple change - screw driver, soldering iron and some white LEDs - I'd add resistors too and at the same time a female socket to power it from a transformer..

Riddle me this.. Why do the gloves have such an obscene flare at the cuff? IMO, it makes them look ridiculous and unrealistic. Scanning through ESB and RoTJ I can't find a scene where the cuffs have such an enormous flare.

However, the hand part of all the gloves is excellent.

I also found a flaw on the mask of my figure which I didn't notice before in darker room lighting. The right side of the right check does not have any black paint on it - it's just the same grey as the under side of the mask. The left cheek is black like the rest of the upper mask. There's also a scuff on the right cheek.

Mask missing black paint tint (which is apparently on purpose - doh!):

right side of right cheek
top of right cheek (under eye)
front of left cheek.

REAL ISSUE: scuff on right side of right cheek (not a water or surface spot, part of paint, can't be removed).

I also have a paint chip identical to the one someone else showed in the other thread, on the back right bottom corner of the shoulder armor, but I don't care either way about that one.

With some adjusting I've now got him down to 13 7/8" but I can't see how I will get him even another 1/16 shorter. That's about 3/8 taller than SSC's specs and 5/8" taller than I'd like the final figure to be after further adjustments and potential mods. Pretty significant variance IMO.
