lol alrighty then!

All joking aside buddy I do seriously feel that Sidious was always going to win that fight. He was clearly defeated by Mace which is no shame but I think Sidious would have turned that around.

Wasn't Windu's fighting style close to a SITH style?

I'm not sure. I know that Sidious was afraid of directly confronting the Jedi. He's powerful, sure, but he's not stupid. He had no idea if 20 Jedi would come for him or just Mace, or Yoda, anyone really. Being a super-awesome-badass fighter shouldn't have been the measuring stick for why a Sith is dangerous in the first place.

Having Yoda fight, having Dooku use lightening, having Sidious do acrobatics and sword fight were all mistake imo.

Man, we're going to get booted from this thread soon, lol

I think that Sidious was defeated, didn't he feed off of Anakin's anger to reboost his power? "unlimited power" so if Mannequin hadn't shown up , yes I think Sidious would have died....that scene really made no sense now that I think about it. Carry on....

I agree.

I just feel that he was getting stronger as the films went on and the Jedi were defeated long before the Windu vs. Sidious encounter. I don't feel that Sidious was afraid to 'directly' confront the Jedi, he was just being cautious as his long standing plan could have been wiped out had he been cut down by Yoda or Mace. Why take them on face to face, his plan was working and when he did face Mace and Yoda well he came out on top in the sense that his plan succeeded.

I don't know about that.

"Unlimited Power" to me was him releasing some of his own power that he was saving for Mace.

Mannequin, :rotfl

Haha, whut. I always assumed he's was telling Mace he/the Sith, now have unlimited power. either way, everything he says in that scene is ridiculous and makes no sense lol.

Editing helps, but look at it this way, no amount of editing could nor can fix the prequels to a point where they compare favorably to any of the OT. Editing is an integral part of movie making, but it's not a panacea. My only point in even mentioning Lucas directed SW was to underline that not everything he's directed is crap.

No... Nooooooooooooooooooo!

Yeah, Palpatine was a buffoon in the PT.

.... Have some respect.

I agree.

Dont get me wrong, Lucas is easy to make fun of now. Its fun! I do it from time to time, and I hate the PT. But all you have to do is pop in Empire of Dreams and see all the hard work and passion the man put into making Star Wars and you have to respect the guy. Im happy he isn't involved too much with the new film, but I still love the guy. Imagine a world without Star Wars. I shudder...

Anyone who hasn't seen The People Vs. George Lucas needs to. It really highlights the love/hate relationship fans have with him.

I'm pretty sure anyone who had watched any of the 3 original movies would have anticipated the same. ;)

Well that was obvious so another reason to add that Palps was always going to beat or should I say survive his encounter with Windu.

Yeah, Palpatine was a buffoon in the PT.

I have read on here that you preferred Palpatine in ROTJ Fiend just like me and I can see why people thought he was OTT in the PT but to call him a buffoon is maybe worded wrong I feel. I would describe Jar Jar as a buffoon but I wouldn't use that term to describe Palpatine in the PT.

Anyways hopefully the UK based retailers will have this Vader in-stock soon.

After a looonnnggggg wait I am finally getting mine on Monday. A lot of my excitement over this figure has died down because of the wait but I'm guessing once in hand the excitement will return.

I wouldn't necessarily call him a buffoon either, but he certainly wasn't as witty or "on top of his game" in the PT. I love the Emperor and feel that his dialogue and even portrayal in the PT is not even close to 50% of what he was in ROTJ. It's a really sore subject with me. I feel the Clone Wars cartoon handled him way better as Sidious than the PT did, but I also feel that the majority of TCW handled everything better than the PT - even Jar Jar.

That's just my opinion. Buffoon is about right for me. I think I described him once as a cackling, twirling buffoon. They made him into a joke. It was very.. .disappointing. The whole time he's dueling with Yoda he's hamming it up to the nth degree with that cackle. In ROTJ he was genuinely frightening. I LOVE ROTJ Emp. But hey man, if you dig PT Palpy then that's cool too. :)

Palps in ROTS was all about being drunk on power and out of the closet. That is how I took it anyway. After waiting in the shadows he was as giddy as a 16 year old on her birthday.

tee hee
