Need some assistance please...

The lights on the chest and belt on my deluxe Vader stopped working. Got new batteries and still nothing.

Never used the lights much... just when snapping pics or just to stare at it a bit and then turn them off...

Looked through the box/packing for an instruction sheet and the only one I coil find was for the light-up base...not the belt/chest.

Was there any? Gonna be hummed if this feature is already shot. Just want to double-check... any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you sure the batteries are inserted the right way? The one closest to the switch needs to have POSITIVE side DOWN and the other one is NEGATIVE side DOWN. The positive side of a coin cell is the flat side, while the negative is the one with the bump.

THANK YOU Pixelpiper!!!!!

Sometimes it's the simplest things....thought I'd tried that but no...guess I didn't.

Lights are back....thanks again for your help....I really appreciate it!

Checked mine and it appears chest and belt lights are out too. Didn't use them much. Thoses batteries don't seem to last long.

Who knows how long those batteries were sitting around before they were inserted in those figures....should've replaced 'em straightaway. Well, lights back on now, so all's good....

THose batteries can last a long time when not in use, but once you light up even just a few LEDs, they won't last long. It doesn't matter if you put a fresh set in, you're probably talking a couple of days of runtime.

They surely are tiny but i would have expected more than 48 hours of run time. Those Leds ain't that big or in number either. Anyway, gotta find me a new set.

I don't have the time to calculate it out right now, but in addition to the LEDs you also have a few resistors dissipating some power. There are two green LEDs in the belt, either 2 or 3mm, I can't remember right now. And then one or two in the chest box.

I keep mine wired with my battery eliminator custom designed for Vader's belt and never have to worry about it, even if I leave them on 24 hours a day. ;)

Never been impressed with most light up displays, but these look good, battery bypass always makes things look better though. :lol

Im not into light up stuff either but Vader looks great when his chest and belt is all lit up. One thing that I cant get over though is the little nipple at the end of those custom sabers.

There's no nipple - not like you might think from some photos, especially some older ones. The very tip, within the glass, contains the electrode, so it doesn't light up like the body does, but there's no physical nipple or other odd bit sticking out when they're finished. In most circumstances, they appear better in person than they do in photographs because the light output is more enveloping and your eye doesn't overexpose the core of the blade to white.

Those sabers are really cool, Pixel...

Back to Vader....there's so much heavy chatter going on in here and throughout the Star Wars section with the news
and announcements from Hot Toys and Star Wars.
Yes...it's good news that more high-quality sixth-scale figures are coming our way...and that Hot Toys will employ their distinct style in producing them.

Does that make what Sideshow has produced (and hopefully will continue to) bad or inferior? I say no....not when I look at a great figure like this Vader...

Is it "perfect"...well, no. There will always be something to someone that isn't quite right or doesn't match what they expect it to be. That's the case with any manufacturer with any line. I think it all comes down to a matter of personal taste. I think this figure is simply awesome...it displays great and the additional features work well and add to the look.

Yes, Hot Toys will produce a Vader...it's inevitable. And this board will be aflame with scalding opinions on which is "better" or more "accurate". While I can't say I'm looking forward to just how, ahem, "spirited" those discussions will be, I look forward to Hot Toy's efforts....but that's not to say I'll need to buy it to "replace" this one from Sideshow...it looks just fine to me and represents Darth Vader quite well in my collection.

What can I say...I'll always be a "Sideshow Freak"..... :)

To me its more a case of apples vs oranges, my SSC Vader will always be dueling or in a situation with rebels/Jedi, he looks huge and menacing as a proper villain should. I'm hoping for HT to have some fairly accurate onscreen size between Vader and the troopers for more of a museum pose together. One display really doesn't affect the other for me.
