Nah, I saw it during SDCC an the dome looked terrible already...
Not the best pics, but you can clearly see how the shape of the dome is messed up...

Shows you how different things look. I also saw it at comic-con and it looked like another bad ass version of Vader.

Well Josh, I'm really not an OCD accuracy freak... I love HT Indy for example !
And don't get me wrong, I like most SS SW figures... but the dome is quite obvious that is the wrong shape again. I loved the base and some of the details on it during SDCC... but since the dome was a big issue on the first one, I was really hoping for them to make it right this time around... and they haven't...
I'll most likely get this guy anyways and if they don't fix the dome, I'll use a Hasbro one... no big deal, but I'd love for them to fix it...

That's why I kind of have to chuckle with you saying how bad this looks. This looks like Vader and the HT figure is nice but only slightly like Ford (I own the HT figure). I didn't think the Dome looked messed up but then again I don't memorize those kinds of details. It looks like Vader from ESB which to me is what I want/expect. If others want to be more OCD that's cool since its their money.

Doesn't really matter to me though I'll get it most likely and let others ***** and moan to their hearts content. I don't venture into this section much to even read the nonsense.

Sorry, but I'm unable to answer design/development questions for the most part as it's just not information I'm privvy to. I always try to share as much info as I can with y'all but in some cases I simply do not have answers to do so from time to time.

Yeah, I'm not OCD picky on this (and I wasn't into 1/6 enough to get the first Vader,) but to me this one looks off in a more general sense, hard to put your finger on it other than the dome.

I just googled some pics and it's tough to see because of lens distortion and differing angles, but these are the closest three.

Just overall shape looks a bit strange. SSC's "nose" looks a bit too small (making the grill triangle too large) and the "eyes" not high enough but as everyone says, I guess it's mostly the dome's size in relation to the "face."

Still excited for this fig, but hope this dome can be tweaked in time - and hopefully the delay in PO maybe says it is being tweaked.

that's all I have to say about it... I won't **** and moan about this... I hope it gets fixed and that's it... I'll be getting it regardless!
SS has been doing a kick-ass job with the SW line... I love Hammerhead, Greedo, the Gammys, Tusken Raiders look awesome and so do the Snowtroopers!

And I agree that the pose in the picture doesn't help.
I'll patiently wait for more info on this guy!

Never realized how wide Vader's eyes are. That's what also killed the Medi's look for me. Makes it look almost like he's squinting. Also, good point about the 'nose'. Great comparison shots, as always.
