However I think that was originally put up for order with a "Prototype pending approval" so if this doesn't have that I doubt it will happen.

on the preview page it does state "prototype pending approval" in the lower left of the image - so there is some room for modifications, albeit small ones I'm sure.

I would think any changes would be more driven by the approval of the license holders than collectors. The collector desired tweaks might not get approval. With licensed products, it's the license holders that have to be satisfied with the look of the piece first and foremost in order for it to even come out, and whatever the approved look is, it's the choice of collectors if they're happy with it enough to buy or not.

I agree completely about the license holders - just simply stating that it could be altered before it does ship. But you are right, Disney will have final say on what it ends up looking like.

Disney, Depp might even have a say in it. I think it'd be cool if actors that have to sign of on products signed some sort of document that the companies could make copies of and put in with the piece so you could have a little authenticy sort of document saying Johnny Depp approved.

I feel like the only one who thinks that this picture looks like Johnny is either dead, on drugs, hasnt slept in days, is dying, got punched in both eyes. i mean its just looks weird

I just don't see Depp at all in that piece. I mean I know who its supposed to be but it doesn't look like it should. I mean the CM piece to be specific.

Pitu, judging by the way you behave in your videos, I'd say you qualify on at least four of the five categories you listed above.

And one of them is not being dead.

Does that mean you think the Cinemaquette looks like Depp?

he resembles Depp but the face is so pale and those purple/red rings around his eyes just make him looks as i described

well it is obvious its just a case of what happens every day! some people think so some dont. lol

I think the pf looks great to me in the angle it is looks king of stylized. Being privileged enough to see this while it was getting sculpted the head look fantastic like it looks in the picture i posted from that video. so im sure this piece will be amazing when the full pics are released. rock on beecheesss!!!!

I agree I doubt we will see any changes on this unless Disney request it.

I doubt they'll change anything. They have made tweaks in the past, most notably the Count Dooku PF. However I think that was originally put up for order with a "Prototype pending approval" so if this doesn't have that I doubt it will happen.

The eyes really seem to be the only thing I personally feel needs to be changed, they just need to squint a bit more. I really think that its the hair throwing the sculpt off.

What's suprising is that neither CM or SS went with a cheeky smirk he had during the film. Both are quite serious looking faces which wasn't the character at all.

The smirk was a component of his persona, but I think if trying to embody the broad scope of his character in a statue, the PF made the right choice.

At his very core, Jack Sparrow is a calculating, scheming, manipulating, man. He is also a bit of a wise ass and playboy, but I find those to be less prominent than the other aspects of him. This PF looks designed to portray him as the calculating manipulator, and a smirk wouldn't be fitting there, a cold face that suggests his brain thinking one thing while his body is up to something else does a much better job capturing that.

If you believe the rumors about the Craig Bond, they do have a say. Supposedly Craig didn't like the headsculpt and that's what killed the figure.

Why would Sideshow want to stylize a human face? Surely they're aiming for the most authentic likeness, no?
