It also occurs to me that if I want to risk it, I can game the system by cancelling all my pre-orders prior to May, place them today, and get points for that later when they convert.

True, I'll lose my place in line, and some items may never convert, but it seem like it might be worth it for some exclusive items that had a hard time selling out and some people are cancelling now...

Are there pre-orders from before May that have not shipped yet?

It is obvious they planned it to minimize the number of points loyal customers would accumulate. Almost all pre-orders have taken place before May 2006. But a majority these same pre-orders will be charged after that date. So yeah, it doesn't make sense to customers. But I guess it makes sense to them.

As far as I'm concerned a pre-order is certainly not a sale. As I mentioned above despite my credit card taking quite a battering from SSC in the last 6 months - I don't have any current points. Oh well. At least we'll get points going forward.

Well, in my case, I've waffled back and forth on the 12" inch lines of the Terminator figures, Scarface, and LOTR figures. Getting on those waiting lists now would mean a much reduced chance of getting some of them, but like the T-1000, for instance, I would think that would have a pretty good chance to convert.

"available points: 275
pending points: 2438"

Nice, I didn't think I'd have that many! All totaled it works out to approximately $135, when I get my "pending" points of course.

Awesome work Sideshow and especially Dusty for all of her hard work, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

available points: 50
pending points: 1058

so, at 20 points = $1, I'll have- what - $55 towards something? that's cool. I haven't read the thread, but is there a cap on the amount you can have?

You don't get points on Wait List conversions. As was stated before ;)

One more time... If you placed your pre-order for anything BEFORE May 1st (no matter when it shipped/ships), there are no points for those orders, as those were made prior to the date when the points started kicking in.

If you pre-ordered/ordered something SINCE May 1st, and it shipped before September 30th, those points are AVAILABLE.

If you pre-ordered/ordered something SINCE may 1st, and it shipped/will ship after September 30th, those points are PENDING until 40 days after it was/will be shipped.

(this is going to be a long day ;))

It wasn't that, I understood how that is, but as far as I can tell only the most recent Star Wars 12" preorders give points at all regardless of when they're ordered or shipped. Like the Probe Droid expansion pack does but Darth Maul doesn't give any points and those were at the same time. And Boussh doesn't give any points either, and Sith Anakin which was preordered and shipped during that time but doesn't give any points.

Foiled once again!

*crawls back to my lair to hatch another nefarious plan...*

Actually, most pre-orders have taken place after May. Didn't Maul pre-order in June? and all the Comic-Con exclusives as well - and anything premiered during comic-con and pre-ordered online. Only a few items remain that pre-ordered before May and have yet to ship, at least that I can see...

All of those should be showing up in your pending category (except for Sith Anakin, which both pre-ordered and shipped within the May-Sept bonus window, thus should be part of the 'available' balance - UNLESS you ordered by phone of course). If you have pre-ordered these items and they are not showing up in your pending, then that's a bug that will need to be worked out!

Quick question .. an item sold at a discount during the Spooktacular counted for points, but an item purchased with the gift card ($10) that came with that item doesn't? Is that because the use of the GC negates the potential for the points?

That is how I understand it. What is worse is if you order two items in an order with a gift card. The gift card negates it for the entire order not just the one item.
