The Predator is nice but one busy looking figure.

Well what do you believe is the better Snake Eyes? This or the 2009 version? It might end up being this figure and Predator since IMO that Predator might be the best thing Hot Toys has done this year. It is very busy and colorful, but it's too unique to pass up.

Honestly, the 2009 with a new body, hands, and boots then with the new visor head from this set would be the superior SE imo. That Visor head along with everything from the 2012 set will be parted out guaranteed, I'd just buy the parts unique to that 2009 set that you like, then wait for the reissue parts from the 2012 set to save money, new part outs are always cheaper then old set part outs.

I really like the Samurai Pred, I have all of them up until the Predators Preds started coming out and I just lost interest. The Samurai is the only recent Pred that's peaked my interest. Too bad is so bloody expensive.

Yeah it's the only thing scaring people away from it.

I've decided to go with the with this current Snake Eyes and grabbing Predator.

Only Predator I own is the Classic version, which I think looks great.

Any chance of a 2nd Storm Shadow coming out? My original plan was to get both SE's and then get Storm Shadow but as I said I changed my plan.

It looks like with Samurai, and all the others, all have the same recasted body.

I would go with this Snake Eyes as the first is way overpriced on the secondary market. The body terrible and the feet to small. While this one isn't perfect, a different sweater is all that will prolly be needed.

I was going to pick one up for 250$ shipped but I think I'm backing out of it.

I really did the goggled head of this one, it has more personality.

But you really have to look at what's unique about that first set. If you're not going to use the original head, then all you would really need from that set is the swords, sword scabbard and bandolier, uzi mag flank pouches, two smoke grenade belt pouches, and the pants. All the rest can be bought from other companies and Sideshow. Triad has a skin tight black jumpsuit that can be used for the top, alternative pants can be bought from a variety of other sources like the new Snake Eyes, better boots can come from Dam etc.. Unless you're going for 100% original 2009 release, it shouldn't cost too much.

Besides, I think Kit Bashing the Ultimate Snake Eyes would be more fun and rewarding then buying either SE set complete.

I've never done any mods to my original SE, I'm pretty happy with him as is; I did order the Creg head for my new SE, and I think that will make me pretty happy with it.

I think it'd just be easier to give the the 2009 weapons to 2012 Snakes and call it a day rather than replacing 90% of the original figure to make it "better." ;)

Don't see how the body and potentially a sculpted head = 90%. :dunno

The new one at $199.99, almost double the price of the old one when it was released, needs the same replacements and more; a head with better scaled goggles, a not so roided body and a commando sweater.

He looks 1000X better with a new body, hands, and boots! If you have a HT muscle body and some spare time, just try it and see if you like it any better.

Edit: beware, the body can stain from the top.
here's a quick shot of mine on a HT muscle TT as well as new hands and boots (the head is temporary until I get Creg Customs ballistic head).

He needs some futzing and that TT has limited arm articulation, but I like it.

And all the above is why only you can decide. Everyone has their own opinion on this character.

You can kitbash SE for far less than both SS offerings but it always just look like a kitbash.
