Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

The underside of my base also looks rubbed off.
I wonder if this is a common problem.

Would some of you guys mind taking pics too so we could determine if this is actually what most of us are receiving?
Mine is the same. I'll shoot some pics tomorrow and post the results.

nice review, i think your hand was shaking when you made this video, don't be nervous, you are the man.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Much better without shiny jammies but still like the position of the comiqutte hanging off the wall better especially to go with the taller Carnage

At least the premium format has a nose. :wink1:

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Just measured 23 3/4"

THe more I look at this the sicker it is.

I think SS hit it out of the park with Spiderman and Hulk Comiquette just on pure design. I sent the Hulk back for replacement. But there's nothing like these, this is over the top awesome. I mean the back with the plug, the sides with the inside of the building, Spiderman on a wall !!

Very Cool. This is a must have.

BTW, the bottom plate is smudged like other have shown, but the paint looks good and no chips.

As for the smudging of the previous post, yes it is pretty bad on that one, but I think there is supposed to be some kind of 'hightlighting', it's not a pure line of this is black and this is red.

As for size, you can see it's pretty much the same size as the PF.

I wanna say that I appreciate you guys being the guinea pigs by opting for the "early" release. That better ensures that these problems will get shored up when the 2nd batch gets released to retailers. Thanks very much! :rock :rock :rock

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Has anyone ever dealt with monsters in motion? I preordered the Spidey comiquette and I received an email stating they had oversold their allocation and they are on the waitlist from sideshow. I don't want to miss out on this statue because of a shady retailer. Any experiences with this company?

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Who said anything about a 2nd batch?
This was Sideshow's MO that they used with Mark VI Maquette, and it wouldn't surprise me to see it more and more. They use the exclusives as a test run to work out the major kinks, then release a "fixed" 2nd batch to the masses. The only real drawback to the guys getting early statues is that they have to go through the hassle of returning statues, etc.

Iron Man was about bad quality control not a test run. And the rest of the Spider-Man shipment is being shipped out at the end of December....they are probably already on the way to Sideshow right now. No way there is time to fix up anything.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Well, Sideshow seemed to hold back on that 2nd batch Iron Man for a good while. However, my earlier post was slightly tongue-in-cheek. I don't think this is going to be a new, uniform policy for Sideshow, or that every release will get a 2nd batch. But by releasing a few statues early, they are able to diagnose potential problems. If something like Iron Man comes up, that would be a nightmare to try and fix for every customer, they can make changes. Even if that means pushing expected releases back.

That video review was awesome :rock thanks

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

It's just the business practice you have to adopt when your factory QC gets progressively worse and worse :huh

If Sideshow didn't do something to account for all the problems they are running into (since apparently, finding good factories is not an option), then they would start losing some serious business. This is a smart move IMO, given what they are working with. Frankly, I'm getting very scared to order from any secondary retailers since every other Sideshow piece I see posted nowadays seems to have some flaw or another that requires it being returned.
