I'd always been a prop guy and kind of looked away from statues and busts (except for my GG ackbar at work) but these definitely pull me in. My only worry is if I pick up one, I'll get the others, but the Ben Kenobi definitely looks like a must buy to me.

I'm currently selling off most of my GG collection to get into these. I love them. I have Maul already on order and still need to get Lomrokk and Obi.

I have some GG stuff as well... to bad that their value is going down as well..

even the nice Bikerscout on speeder

I hear ya Chaosorb, I sold some of my Star Wars collection off to get these. These pieces are awesome! I have Maul, Ben, and Lomrokk on pre-order. And I'm ready to hit the pre-order button when Fett comes up at the end of this month.

I'm keeping my GG personally.
I have the animaquettes which are very different and the only statue I have from GG is the Kneeling Vader and there's no way I'm ever letting go of it.

I'd like to get the Dooku/Ventress embrace statue though at some point.

thats such a beautiful piece I think as well.. just to bad it isnt in a bigger scale

yeah that's part of GG's problem too. I love some of their statues but they're so small!
It's really one of their talent though at GG that they give a great feeling/scene to their statues. Something that I sometimes find lacking in SSC products. SSC is often just standing museum pose or action "I'm going to hit you" but it doesn't often evoke a sense of scene and place.

That's why I really like dioramas and some comiquettes but they seems to be doing much less of these lately so we're losing that aspect of statues (exception made of Galactus mostly and maybe some Mythos and LotR statues).

anyway sorry for :offtopic:

The price of these things reflects the cost of doing business in this industry. Materials grow more expensive. (Polystone is an oil-based material, so every time gas costs go up, expect that collectibles will do the same ... for many reasons.) Labor becomes more expensive.

My bread hasn't quadrupled in price in the last four years

don't know if anyone saw this USA Today article but looks like they're going to expand their SW Mythos line:

"UT: Do you envision more than five being in the Mythos collection in the end?
TG: As designers we love the opportunity to build collections. In this case we framed our Mythos collection around a five piece start, with the hope that we would connect with collectors’ imaginations. We appear to have struck the right chord, and are excited to confirm that we are venturing further with the concept. Look for us to explore other characters in the future."

The Kenobi statue really calls to me, esp. with the young Alec Guiness portrait. Seriously badass.

I hope the paints do justice to Trevor Grove's sculpt.

I hope they preview a new piece within the next month. I really want to see what's next after Boba and Vader.
