one reason why Maul isn't sold out yet is probably that the ES is STILL TBD... whats ridiculous considering he went up for PO in April !! Don't know why they are not publishing the ES...

I think it might be because

1. It's an OK statue. Nothing really Mythos about it. Seems to be training.

2. It's a prequal character

3. SS has already made two PFs, a LSF, and I believe a LSB of Maul. People could just be Mauled out.

Of all the Mythos staues I think this is the most boring and tells the least story.

I think I'm in for Obi-Wan and Vader. Which I think makes for a nice dichotomy on display. I could pose them on either ends of the shelf, like they're pondering about what happened to each other after they parted way on Mustafar.

The Gamorrean Warlord was a bit goofy for my tastes, and as bad-ass as Boba Fett was, the enormously long rifle was overkill.

and there is no ex. maul is a cool character but has been way overdone. Also the original pf is still the best, love that pose.

bring on boba fett already!

It is. Sideshow is calling Mythos Maul an Exclusive Edition despite there being no regular edition.

that's weird..is this thing ever happen to other line?

i mean, i already confuse with Gollum PF and Stormtroop PF (they called it as Limited Edition) but this one?

its either you call it all is EX or there's no EX (meaning all are reg)

I think they selling the Mythos line exclusive just through Sideshow ... no distributers.. thats why excl. ... but thats just a guess..

Jaws.. I agree.. of all the mythos.. Maul is the most "boring" one.. but of all Mauls out there.. this is the best IMO (affordable one.. the LS is out of reach for me)... thats why I had to order him for sure.. he will be my online Maul statue

I am still 50-50 with this maul.

50 coz this could be my first SW statue

50 is becoz 1/5 :( i am kinda dilemma here.

price wise is almost the same with the one from Koto. But i believe in SS more than Koto (some said that Koto's paint job is not as good as SS)

I had the Koto.. and he was not bad.. but 1/6 and far from beeing as good as I see this one here from SS

Maul may be a little overdone but I think this one looks great and he is the only reason to watch TPM. I'm looking forward to getting all of them... I hope.

I can't believe I had to just talk myself off the ledge again on another line from Sideshow. After reading that the Maul was still available, I finally checked out the whole Mythos page and backstories and such. Then I got the tingle, and kind of wanted to order Darth Maul. I've don't this so many times before. I truly do want a few key pieces from this line, but Maul is definitely not one of them. Boba Fett for sure, but not Maul. So happily I remembered my previous lessons, and the fact that I'm dirt poor right now, and did not order.

Boba Fett will be mine.

And as for 1/5, it's a great format. Small enough to get quite a few into a limited collecting space, and big enough to pack a ton of detail into. I was a completionist on the LOTR maquette line, and they were all very well presented by Sideshow. As long as they hold the same quality within the Star Wars: Mythos line, no fan should have anything to worry about.

Can't wait for Boba Fett in the Mythos line, and then to see what else Sideshow comes up with...

they should, it's basically the same formula they did with lotr 1/5, just copied over to star wars..and predators (although those are getting released at a mind boggling pace).

if the paint & quality is anywhere close to the lotr 1/5 this series will be a definite winner!

boba fett will also be the one i want to own

Yep, it was definitely a hard decision to give up on the LOTR line of maquettes. I felt we would never see the Hobbits, plus I'm downsizing, so it just made sense. Then bam, nice hobbits at this years con. Well, I would prefer a different scene, but very nice nonetheless, and amazing likenesses too...

:(

there is an unspoken elegance to the lotr maquette line when you have the set together, compared to those colorful comic statues or star wars. When people visit who knows nothing about this stuff, they always admire the lotr setup i have and completely ignores all my comic & star war statues that are worth tons more, which is kind annoying.

with the hobbit duo announced, it's a 100% certainty the final piece will be coming as well, you should get the set back :)

anyway getting off topic..

Thank ya sir! This is a kick ass line for SW fans. Let me put it this way I was 50/50 on Vader until I saw him at the show. I'm on board for that one 100%.

:clap Good for you man, I know LOTR is more your cup of tea welcome to the Dark Side!! :vader I've been 100% onboard since I first laid my eyes on Obi-Wan. These suckers are just too good to pass up. All of them shall be mine! :devil

I was and still am a big fan of the LOTR pieces, however, looking at my current focus and what I have now, the Mythos line won me over. I'm all in for the Mythos line (OT characters only of course:wink1:)

If we get the same quality paint jobs and sculpting, this line has huge potential. And there are so many "off-screen" stories they can tell.

Yet my wife manage to look at Boromir and say something along the line of "what's this monstrosity?" to which I questioned her objectivity and asked how she could even say that :peace

Agreed. I will have to be real careful of what I but though. Otherwise I will end up with a room filled with Mythos statues and I just don't have the room.

Right now I think Obi Wan is the only real must with Fett a very close second. I like Vader also. One of the only times I would think about displaying him without his helmet.

I would much rather Maul had his full Sith robes on instead of going half topless. Unfortunately it's kind of a deal-breaker for me.

Obi-wan, Fett and Vader, on the other hand, will definitely be mine.

for me,

-boba fett is must buy no question! that giant sniper rifle is so much win
-obiwan looks really good a most likely buy unless something goes seriously wrong during full reveal
-vader is tbd
-maul i have no interest in at all, dont like the pose, dont like the half naked look. Love the original pf version
-gamorrean looks good but i already have the 1/5 attakus version which is phenomenal, dont need 2 for a minor character.
