Epic! Thanks for the pics!

After getting my 2 trooper. I realized, the color of the fabric on the torso part is just right in person.
But the weathering for the boots are just too much for me. So I take out my "Paint Buster" (from Japan) and the result are this...

Looks great. But as someone who loves hiking and used to do a bunch of it, as well as mountain biking, I think the Sideshow boot weathering is pretty accurate given they're white boots. :)

True. But I'm more after what's seen on screen.

Arrived today. Fantastic in hand but the body is poo. I remove the hand peg the elbow joint pops out. In addition the head is awful wobbly......kinda bummed no wrist articulation but all manageable issues so overall pleased.

You are right about the wrist articulation. The hoth figures have them. But this should be a feature for the scout trooper also. Coz this will ease the positioning of the hands on the handle bars.

So I have a couple question for folks who have this figure. Is the paint weathering around the lenses as shoddy as this? Really jumped out at me and might try to remove most of it as it makes it look like the whole area was cut poorly with an exacto blade.

Loving this guy , i plan to weather the pouches after body swap.

Lovin' the shots in here....what a great figure...here's a quick one from me....

Really looking forward to the bike now....and really trying to resist ordering another trooper....

Two insane pictures right here! Great shots guys! :clap

The paint is a lot more even and thicker on mine. Looks like someone did that with a felt tip pen.

Mine is properly done with a wash. If I were you. I would just remove it and re-apply the wash. You can use a pre-mix from Tamiya. They come in 3 colors. Black, Brown and Grey.

I think I should be more impressed with him but im not for some reason. Perhaps in time.

The Scout looks cool, inaccurate on so many levels, but cool. I will get only one, and wait for a Scout to be made by HT some day.

Yeah, it's not one of Sideshow's best troopers by a long shot, but I've really come around to liking it a lot (after my initial "yikes!" open-the-box reaction) seeing what people are doing in this thread.

It isn't close to the Biker Scout from the movie, but it's a very cool variant - as I said earlier, he's a special "Sniper Scout" to me from now on. I'm going to go ahead and finish my Hasbro Biker custom figure and that'll be the movie-accurate Biker.

Makes you wonder how most of these troopers "go" in the field. So many layers to deal with, but I guess knights had the same issues.:lol

What works well to remove it? Tried isopropyl but to no avail.[/QUOTE

Check out your local hobby shop. My "Paint Buster" was from Hobby Link Japan. But Japan now prohibits shipping flammable materials, so its its no longer available online.

I got this guy today, really impressed with it. The only thing that blows is the body. So I did some dremel work on the biceps and sides of the torso. I sanded them down so I could get his arms to hang naturally. I have some slim knockoffs enroute, so I may switch it over to one of those to see what it looks like. Until then, I am pretty happy with this guy. I may have to grab a second one. :)

You have the picture of the parts you dremeled? Care to share please.?
