I agree and I think the Sandtrooper will be going in the middle when I get him. Nice to see the real grunts of the Empire.

It looks like a man in a suit even on the stock body - saying this is like a toy (Hasbro for example) couldn't be farther from the truth. People should get out and see what the state of toys are like today, especially for SW, then maybe a better appreciation will be had for spending up to $250 on a 1/6 scale figure.

At $189 or $169 with a $20 coupon code, this one was a relative "bargain."* * and that's factoring in the ridiculous knee pads and incorrect sculpt elements on the helmet.

I'm not debating the proportions, sculpt or anything. They are fine. I'm just saying that when I look at it, I can see plastic. Of course, it is. But I've had figures that did not show they were toys, that looked "real", if it makes sense when you speak of fictional characters. I guess the mat "greyish" finish does not help.

These scout troopers are excellent even with the quibbles about the bucket. I personally did swap bodies and it does make a difference for me, but many people are very happy with the stock body. The HT bodies do a little better with the natuaral lay of the arms and the way the body frames with the armor from the shoulders.

If you have any fondness for the character from ROTJ then it will be a very good figure for you. My biggest complaint on it is the Mickey Mouse size blaster. But I got 2 EXs so they are running around with two BFG's so that stays in the boot. :lol

What Hot Toys bodies are you guys using? My Snowtrooper could use a new body asap.

I'm thinking about cancelling my order for this guy. I keep hearing underwhelming reviews about it. Plus being a UK collector I could only order it with SS as all my local resellers have sold out & the shipping alone is going to be over $100 with the bike & then there's the 20% import tax on top. It's going to be a really expensive set to buy for me

Sideshow is getting another run of figures in the summer of next year. You should ask your resellers if they plan on getting more in the future as that seems a possibility. If they're not sure then you could always wait till next year or see if you can get a good deal on one from a board member.

For what it's worth, I own several Hot Toys Stormtroopers and two of Sideshow's Scout Troopers and plan to get another. While it's not a perfect figure by any means (perfection is relative and few truly are), I think it's a strong representation of the Scout Trooper as a whole. If you like troopers in general and want a Scout for your collection, by all means go for it. I don't think you'd really regret it. I like mine and I think they look good next to the other Sideshow troopers.

I hope one day HT to make a (less horse face) Scout trooper. Till then this is ok, though I still prefer SSC's Snowtrooper to this Scout

Tall on both.

They look fantastic bro. I have to catch up here and see what route I'm going to take but from the little that I saw already it sounds like they need work out of the box at some capacity. Either shaving down the sides of the torso or a full body swap or whater else.

I'd love to say I'll probably be satisfied when I unbox and be fine with keeping them stick, but that's pipe dreaming :lol

Anyone have any Hasbro pistols they want to sell?

I got a deal on a second speeder bike so now need another scout. While looking at ssc and bbts it looks like the scouts now come with the boots in 2 parts, upper and lower. 1 lower set 2 variations of the upper. Can anybody confirm that this is the case? The exclusive that I have came with 2 sets of complete boots.

That is weird, it is now listed as:

"- Right and left standing boot tops
- Right and left action boot tops
- Right and left boot bottom"

And the pictures on SS site shows 2 pairs of boots, and the BBTS site shows the boot tops.

Both my EX and regular Scout came with 2 boots.
