Useless... I never pose figures with stuff like that. I did use a $20.00 off code, so that takes care of tax at least. I think I'm just about done with this hobby.

I seriously am thinking about cutting down on my purchases. Simply too expensive a hobby.

All this talk of shipping, I went back and looked at the email again.

It says $29.44.

Which is odd because it's usually $30 to the UK.

Same amount to France. Add about $60 of various taxes and you're good.

Having another one ordered locally as well as the bike, this ex rifle will find it's way on my shelves too.

Well the shipping to Los Angeles is correct. Way too high for a corporate rate. SS must be taking a good fee for "processing".

I have to be more selective about my Exs. And extra $30 is just too much on just taxes and shipping alone.

However, now that they've stopped other retailers from giving the 15% discount they used to, it makes less sense to cancel if you used the $20 coupon.

Starting to to sound like a monopoly and collusion and all that other stuff the Federal Government steps in and tries to fix.

R2 and Marty Mcfly kinda pushed me over the edge on this shipping bs. If they don't offer flat shipping on a figure I try to not order from SS unless I really want an exclusive. BBTS rates are 1/3 the price or less sometimes and they double box. The selective gouging is very annoying. Bad deal for those of you in Cali getting the double whammy.

I, too, am considering going with Alter Ego Comics or AP Collectibles for non-exclusive Sideshow items. I bought a Taun Taun from AP Collectibles and the shipping was less than $15 (compared to almost $50 from Sideshow). If SS is getting a rate from UPS, it's the worst corporate shipping rate they offer.

Yep.

As much as I hate to wait, looks like BBTS will be my new go-to. They have $5.75 shipping for this item.

$5.75 double-boxed from WI or $16.68 from 20 miles away.

Yeah, big regrets for me on pre-ordering the Taun Taun from SS. I think I could have cancelled from SS, eaten the NRD, ordered from BBTS, and still paid less in the end.

It all makes perfect sense to me. Ship it from Hong Kong to California, then to Wisconsin, then back to California. For $10 less while circumventing the sales tax :slap

:lol That sums it up.

But to save $10 on shipping plus another $13 in tax, I have to wait an additional 4-6 weeks of course for BBTS to get their stock and ship.

So now the question becomes: is it worth the wait to save $23? (the savings goes up of course on a more expensive item like $300 Vader)

Luckily I don't have to pay tax in addition to shipping but yeah $20 for shipping to me seems high (I'm in South Dakota). I don't really get how Sideshow can offer some figures at a flat $10 shipping rate but others are double the cost. It's not as though box sizes for 1/6th figures vary in size that much for the most part. Also especially considering that like others have said Sideshow doesn't even do anything but slap a label on the shipper and don't even double box it seems a bit overpriced.

Looking forward to this, got the notice as well....................$15 shipping to florida.........:woo...............:dunno

I shipped one of the old SS obi figures to CA double boxed awhile back and it was $11 and change. On non flat rate shipping SS generally charges me $23 now.
