I think the sculpt of palpatine is great. I dont think there has been a closer sculpt in toys yet to match this and wont be for awhile neither. This will be a great piece.

Here's a quick photoshop, skin and hair made lighter, side of hair reduced, "flap" over eyes turned at a different angle. That's it. I still think this is a good sculpt.

Just my two cents.

Who... who was saying something about paying Ian to stand in the corner of the room?

i think nailing the character's essence is more important than nailing the actor's likeness... with the exception of the Old Ben prototype, i feel Palpatine is one of the most successful.

Damn, people are *****in about this sweet sculpt????

"I asked my partners best friends cousins hair cutter if this looked like Palpatine and they said no way dude, who is that supposed to be???"

It's not even out yet, but it owns every Palpatine/Sidious/Emperor figure ever made.

wow, it took long enough for this to come, lol. Well anyways, I guess I'm sort of a newbie here, although technically I'm not since I've posted here before (but that was awhile ago). Well basically the whole point of me posting now is cause I've noticed that when you take the preview pic, and invert the colors, you'll notice that the sculpt (on chancellor palpatine) actually looks pretty spot on to Ian Mcdiarmid. I'll try and post a pic later to prove it.

I agree it's fantastic, but to compare it to the others isn't much competition ;)

The only really nice Palpatine piece out there, with film appearance well represented, is the GG bust which is just spectacular.

It was the dentist. Get it straight!

why must you ruin my joke....there had to be someone who would have fallen for it. :)

I half hoped it was a joke, but with the anticipation for this pack, I don't think anyone going for the PPO doesn't have the date burnt into their minds and flagged on their calendars.

C'mon Sideshow, BRING IT ON!!!!!!
