Hi guys,
True, I don't NEED to defend myself, but I like to communicate, and sometimes that means ironing out miscommunication. I'm going to call this a discussion rather than an argument because it sounds like people are calmly making reasonable points on both sides. I very much appreciate those defending me, and I can also appreciate the concerns over alternate interpretations. It is only because I thought and meant nothing negative by the comment that I posted it as a simple observation, but I wouldn't have if, from my perspective, I thought it would be mistaken.
As a painter and customizer I have nothing but great respect for Beto. He is easily in my league as an artist, and maybe more so because he is the total package. Much love and props to Beto and Lupita. I won't apologize for something I did not mean, but I am sorry to hear that they may have been offended by it, and I'm surprised to hear they were sensitive about the issue regarding being there at the Xpo. Had I had any idea of that, I most certainly would not have drawn any attention to it because now we have pages of attnetion on it. Considering the fact they live in Mexico, I admire Beto for speaking English so well. Beto has commented in my thread, so I know he reads it. I wouldn't dare post anything to insult him. Love you, Beto. Hope there are no hard feelings. I absolutely admire you in many ways. An artist of your caliber transcends barriers like language. In fact, I found it endearing.
Commtech and Q, I understand how what I said about Xpo would be offensive to those who put so much effort into making it a reality. To say it wasn't as big as it sounds could mean it wasn't as good as it sounds, but I just meant square footage. I was in no way disappointed in Xpo, in fact it exceeded my expectations, and Frank and Sons is the coolest collectibles place I've ever been to. 1/6 Xpo was great, it was very well promoted, and I hope the plans for a follow up in October come through. I will definitely be there. The best part of it for me was meeting fellow artists and fellow Freaks. The custom figure contest entries were incredibly impressive. I genuinely hope it was only the first of many, bigger and grander shows. I look forward to looking forward to it every year.
