Hey All!

Does anyone know if you can buy just a one day ticket to the SDCC? I will be down in S. Cali when the convention is happening but really have no desire to go to the show other then for an exclusive darth vader/anakin. So is it possible to get a one day ticket and if so how much?

Thanks!

Yes you can buy a one day pass, and the show itself is awesome. Check out this website for more information. https://www.comic-con.org/cci/

Rebelsum said the limited edition will be bigger than an other exclusive so far. Proabaly at least 3000 with 1000 being set aside for non-attendees like last year's HB (1000 show, 1000 non-attendee).

Anyone know if there are plans for an overseas allotment like Hellboy ? If so I won't be so disappointed if I miss out as I can probably pick up one of those here in Australia. It still possible to pickup the Hellboy one here occassionally for about $A120 - (about$US80).

I would imagine if they went to the trouble to do it for Hellboy, they would do it for an even more popular character/figure. Don't know for sure though. I think everything is going to be announce on Wednesday.

Totally agree, there will most likely be an overseas allotment, my guess is it will be in the range of 1000-1500.

While I think the allotment of the figure is good for overseas people, it really is unfair to US collectors that can't go. Collectors living in NYC are just about as far from SDCC as other overseas collectors, but yet they might only get 200 set aside for non-attendees. I think there should be a certain amount of non-attendee figures that can go to both US and overseas collectors. That way everyone has an equal chance werever they are living (with only the timezone time of the pre-order being the only issue).

The only good thing for any of us who get shut out from the n/a pre-order is if we get on the waiting list fast (within 2-5 minutes) we'll have a very good shot at scoring this item.

Also, if the Edition size is over 2500, they won't be too expensive to purchase on eBay intially (figure $75-$90 for a while) once they are actually shipped simply because the quantity of the listings will be fairly sizeable (double compared to Luke EX). Whatever you do , do NOT purchase any ebay pre-orders before SDCC, wait till they are actually in sellers hands.

Im sure the show is great and think I will have fun there. I just don't think I will want to go for 4 days straight. conventions are not really my thing. does anyone know if the anakin will be cheaper at the convention then online? i thought i read that somewhere.

The Sideshow SDCC exclusive are ONLY available on line. You order them on the site and then pick them up at the show. The non-attendee versions of the figures are typically $5 more (plus shipping) due to a "processing fee."

I went down for one day the first year I went. Stood in line for 2 hours to get in, then saw all the cool panels I was missing and didn't even get a chance to check out the entire exhibition space.

The next year I went for 2 days, saw a couple of cool panels, still didn't have a chance to check out the entire exhibition space.

The past couple of years I've been for all four days (including preview night) and still don't feel like I've exhausted checking out the entire exhibition space, but I've usually been able to catch most of the cool panels I've wanted to see.

30 bucks to walk around and look a few toys????

So that $50 Anakin is really $80+

I would think the experience and memories derived from the event would make it a steal at $30. I know I rather be going than having to hear from it here & the chatroom. :)

I whish I could go to SDCC this year, hopefully next year. I am just glad SS gives the non attendees a chance at the exclusives.

Yeah, you really have to go for at least 3 days I think to see everything and really it's just a awesome event. Hard to put into words how cool it really is.

Exactly. I go Wednesday thru Saturday the leave Sunday morning, that's the way to do it. The show is awesome and unlike anything you could of imagine. Basically all of the cool movie stuff is on Saturday and the rest of the days are smaller panels. So get all of your shopping done by Friday and stay in the big hall (Hall "H" I believe) on Saturday and enjoy the show.
