while your amount of pieces is great, sometimes less is more........:monkey2 just saying.

you should tone down your colletion and streamline it, or believe me you'll burn out and lose interest.

Thanks all I know I will most likely never buy anything fancy to put them in because I might be moving around in the future. Yes they are mighty dusty already. Lol... Im not worried too much about dust, more if we get a earthquake here like the one from the summer we had in the entire east coast that shook us good here. At the time I was not collecting these yet. but dust I'm not worried. I will just blow them off here and there. To protect these from dust the displays will have to be huge and I just don't want the big cabinet displays when I need to move. For now I just enjoy looking at them daily.

Does dust eat the paint? The fabric I know it sticks. Has anyone here have statues display with building dust on them for years? I know cold and hot weather sucks too.

Dust does take some of the shine off a paint job. The dust gets settled into the clothing of the PF's and unless you're going to throw them in the washer. It's pretty hard to get the dust out of cloth material.

I'm checking online and YouTube to see what dust can do to the statues but found nothing. I did get the SS website info on the dust. Oh well I can dust them once a year. But the cold and hot weather I can't do anything about. The house gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer when I'm not home so so much for that. I don't put them in direct sunlight. But they are next to some air vents on the side. Thanks for the help at least now I know to dust them. Do you think dusting them good once a year is ok?

You should dust them at least twice a month :lecture you spent all that money, why in the **** are you destroying them!

Heck no that's not enough. I would say at least once a month.

ours are in a cabinet and even we check for dust once a month... you really are destroying your pieces.
and why do you put them out like that? One push and all will come down. Not to mention that it looks ugly like that; crowded and no logical order whatsoever... at least put some in boxes. That way all will be saver until you have place to display them

I purchased a Bowen Batman statue off Ebay and it was covered with dirt/dust because the seller never bothered to dust it. The dust started causing the paint to crack and flake. I'll see if I have any pictures of the damage caused by the dust....keep in mind, I'll probably post them on your picture posting timetable.:lol

And everyone's comments about proper displaying is spot on. Your pics may lead some to believe you have a hoarding issue.

Wow to dust so many statues is too much work each month or two. :slap not sure what to do........... I don't want to destroy them either.......as for cabinets I'm not sure if I will ever get them because I might be moving around more than once in the future. I can try to dust them more but is it even possible to dust the superfine details of a statue? I mean parts like the fingers, hair lines, etc. I will use a brush but no air can for me too much risk to that. If i get damage from dust on these or weather damage I will quit collecting. :(

I'm still shock dust can do that much damage. I bought a SS statue from a eBay seller a while back the anakin statue. It came with a layer of dust on his cloak but that I will have to deal with it because they are all set in the open.

That's why box them up if you can't properly display them yet or not have the time to dust them. Have a few pieces out, possibly the ones that you can't live without or admire the most. Or just rotate them monthly/weekly.
