I respect Die Another Day for the creative decision to go full retard. Like Moonraker, the franchise needs to go full retard every once in a while so we can get movies like Casino Royale and For Your Eyes Only. Plus I really like the pre-title sequence, so there's that.

:rotfl Fair enough! :rotfl I always laugh when Brosnan talks about not being consulted about the reboot. It's like he never watched Die Another Day. :lol

I think you're too hard on each actor. Brosnan would have been brilliant in a CR-calibre Bond film. You have to realize he had no creative control in why Die Another Day turned out the way it was. The same with Moore and even Connery in their lesser entries. You can't blame the stars for the Broccolis' decisions.

I love the character and have a specific way I feel (which I understand is entirely my own opinion and irrelevant to the franchise) the movies should play out. But overall, the bar was set extremely high by Connery, and the only actor to match that height so far has been Craig. That's not saying there weren't great parts to each of the other actors' pieces, but to me they just lacked that "IT!"

I agree.

Although my first Bond movie I ever saw was Man with the Golden Gun...so my bar was set really low. :lol

Moore was the Bond I watched the most because they were the only Bond flicks I had on tape. Until I got a hold of Goldfinger. :yess

Just been invited to a local premiere. Get to see this the day before release now and sit in the Aston used in the movie :yess:

:lol have a good one mate that is amazing.

My plans consist of me and a good few mates all watching it in IMAX in Manchester, staying over and goin on a night out. Looking forward to it. I know it wasn't filmed by IMAX cameras but I love it just for the size of the screen! :lol

I don't know if it's the haircut, the pronounced bow-tie or the smaller suit, but I'm really getting a Pee Wee Herman vibe from this poster:

Not really. A View to A Kill is trash. So is Die Another Day.

The weaker Bond flicks can be passable. But once we get into Moore, and later Brosnan movies....well....blah.

It's funny you don't like the cheese and cornball antics in these films but you enjoy Michael Bay movies. :lol

I have not seen all of Moore's movies and have no intention of doing so. I don't like the ones I've seen so don't care to sit through all the others. But of all the ones I HAVE seen, "Die Another Day" takes the cake for being the worst of them all. And that's sad because I did like Brosnan as Bond. Especially in "Golden Eye."
