Nah, some looks are really just way too much even for me but I'm open to interesting new tweaks. It doesn't get rid of the classic look as the top but its just neat to see something different like this once in a while.

I agree. There are quite a few of Spidey's alternative looks I love, Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly's version, Black/Symbiote, Iron Spidey, Spider-Man 2099, Bag-Man, Cosmic Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Phoenix but this one just isn't one of them.

I am outraged that Marvel had the gall to just come over to the DCU and take the Royal Flush Gang!. I mean, who are DCU's C and D listers supposed to fight? and further more....(someone leans over and whispers something in IC's ear) What's that now? this isn't the RFG? Oh lol nevermind lol

I guess you have to be a DC fan to get it :lol

Oh I get it, I've just given on trying to talk sense with some of the people here. Hard to reason with a person whose so narrow & close-minded to new ideas or judge a whole book even though they haven't picked up any of the books in question for years. I do respect the opinion of people regarding the new look & choice of Spidey as the new member but bashing a book you haven't even read?

There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

F4 sucks. There I said it. Well, except the Thingy. He's a good punching bag for Hulk. There goes my opportunity of making friends! :slap

Whoa xyx, I think you're taking my joke a bit too far. Just having a chuckle at Marvel's expense is all.

I think you're just a little defensive bro because like you said you've been defending it from others.

No man, you got me all wrong it wasn't against you at all. So my apologies if you thought it was directed at you. :wink1:

That's it Mr. Green I'm putting you in a rocket & sending you off world!

Iron Spidey is awesome. Really wish I had kept my order for that piece back in the day.

:lol welcome to teh interwebz

If it were up to most folks on these geek boards, we would have absolutely nothing new. Just the same old stories and characters they left off with in the 80's and 90's.

I welcome new ideas personally. Some do turn out to be crap, but the few gems that pop up make it all worth it.

I do read FF. I really enjoyed the Millar/Hitch run. I enjoyed the "Ultimate FF" as well. Putting one of the most important classic Marvel teams in the hands on a good creative team is the best way to keep the series strong.

Good writing can fix almost any comic series. Even if it doesn't attract legions of new readers the series will continue simply because of the critical acclaim.

I don't care for stunts. FF doesn't need to be re-invented.

This is one of Jack's most important contributions to comics. It needs to be respected.

I respect what you're saying but I don't think Marvel is disrespecting Jack's contribution but the complete opposite. That's why they're exerting all this effort on keeping the book interesting & enjoyable for the readers. I also don't see Johnny's "death" to be just a stunt but an important part in a quite good story that Hickman is making.

I'll survive and come back even stronger! Hey at least I am not in a fish bowl. :nana:

Hey! It's comfy in here. :pfft:
Oh by the way Hulk just got his ass handed to him in a recent issue. (Though I can't wait for him to get some payback!)

This has nothing to do with Jack. It never did. It has to do with sales.

Marvel is a business, and like any other, they stay ahead of the curve, or they fall.

There IS a reason why Marvel has been kicking DC's ass in sales up and down the last 20 years.

Marvel, DC. Same mess, diff company. Most of the guys working for one shop have worked for the other.

What they both have in common in recent years is hiring movie and TV writers during their downtime and letting them cherry pick what titles the want to work.

Look at what Strazinski pulled on Superman with that walkabout story crap! And Wonder Woman! He bailed on both series and is only going to do graphic novels now, leaving someone else to pick up his mess. Of course, JMS will still get a story credit on those books. His names sells. :dunno

JMS springs to mind, but he's not the only one. The problem with these writers is you'll never get their "A Game" because they sell their best ideas to Hollywood for bigger money. What they put in the comics are their leftover ideas.

Combine that with a bunch of top down editorial concepts and crossover series.

I love comics, but there are great dry spells where there isn't much to read.
