Maybe it used to be served by cleaning droids or something and Han just wasn't arsed with that once he got ownership of it.

things just dont add up in this movie.. time.. looks.. If it would play 10 years before ANH.. they needed a much younger actor IMO ... and even in 10 years.. there is no way the Falcon gonna look like that much different...

That one still is actually kind of interesting. It's cool to see the Falcon in a new light. That being said, in universe it doesn't really make sense that in less than 10 years it goes from this to a "piece of junk".
