Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

the reason i am being so blunt is because I am one of the few guys that LIKED the trailer :lol

I just think the ship looks really weird. it feels unsettling. But you are getting so mad at the ship comments when i am one of the few guys NOT hating on the new actor lol. I have said nothing about him. I don't think he looks or sounds as bad as the other guys.

I know I was harsh on the Last Jedi but you have to take the sights off of me, i am not the enemy here :)

Never were an enemy....I enjoy your posts...

I think I am just fed up with the internet and what seems like everyone wanted to be the coolest poster because they come up with the most reasons to hate on a film. <any film> (Grace is a great example)

Seems like there are a lot of desperate people posting these days wanting to be the biggest hater....most sarcastic , which it’s fine .

But dammit if someone is gonna try to be Difabio, at least come up with some intelligent reasons not to like the film....

These days it seems like a lot of our fellow posters are nitpicking to the extreme. Which maybe a natural reaction to former nerd only materials becoming mainstream.

Plus I have been dealing with the public all morning....that makes a guy especially grumpy!

@X

I think we'll be seeing a lot less now that most of those folks have opted out of the franchise after TLJ.

BUT, this is SW and it seems no matter how loud and how many people blow the "THIS IS TRASH IM NEVER WATCHING ANOTHER ONE" whistle, those same people are back here discussing it again, so they do go out and see it. (which in return is supporting it). I guess time will tell.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yeah I have. It's rather hard to explain what it's like to someone who hasn't.

Have you ever done any psychedelics?

do you really see God?

what I meant by enemy is that I am not on the side of the haters on SOLO (not yet)
So i am not behind that enemy line lol. not that we are enemies but that in this thread I am a neutral. have not joined either side

I can't stay with you. Sorry...

I don't particularly like the "fast car" bit, but overall I liked what I saw. You didn't care for RO which I really loved, so if its close to that I will be happy and get the sour taste of TLJ out my mouth.

So you're not much of a Han Solo fan. Gotcha.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

do you really see God?

Depends, that's what a lot of people describe it being like. Not really "seeing" god, but feeling some sort of overwhelming power.

I tend to swing between agnostic and athiest so that may be why I don't get that as much. My brain isn't programmed to believe in a higher power.

DMT is the same compound your brain releases when you die, it floods every receptor in your brain that it can. So that's where that analogy comes from. I've had quite a lot of experience with DMT, the more you trip on it, the less profound of an experience (like anything else) but it becomes more therapeutic. The first time I did it, I experienced lots of beings who guided me through the trip, they didn't speak at all to me, they just showed me things, shapes, out of world buildings, the universe wrapped around my thoughts and feelings through a kaleidoscope, the human race's true torched soul. Other times I've done it, I've heard "godly" voices, experienced the "white tunnel", have had years of memories that I don't even recall having come up etc.

It's only about a 10-15 minute trip, but it can feel like a lifetime. Especially if you come right out of your trip and into the next.

Not typical communication like talking back and forth, it's like you're all on the same page you understand each other completely without having to physically communicate. (it's all your own brain, so in the end it's all you). I knew what they wanted to show me, and I knew why they wanted to show me, all without them talking to me.

But, like I said I have had other times where voices will talk to you, not so much a conversation more of a lesson.

Yes, but not near as intense. I seem to find that shrooms and lsd, for me at least, typically bend the world as we percieve it. (Colors and textures, walls crawling and beating like a heart etc. You feel like your tripping, but you can still walk, go get dinner, see a movie, bang your girl etc. Where DMT/ayahuasca is more thought and fundamental belief based. Your ass is in the chair and not leaving for a few minutes. :lol

Shrooms/LSD are more of a party drug, DMT is more of soul-searching psych.

what did they look like?
some people think there is a paranormal connection to this drug because people that have never met or have never had the same life experiences will talk about seeing the same beings telling them the same things.
How they see creatures that look similar to Egyptian or Aztec gods (body of man, head of animal) and how these beings tell them they are happy humans found the technology to communicate with them.
This is obviously probably still from their own brain but some people are arguing that you tap into a different dimension and that you are seeing real beings.

some scientists in FL are trying to create a machine to use DMT to talk to these beings for longer than the regular trip. they want a machine that gives the person DMT doses for 5 hours. and record what they see.

thats why im so interested in this because people will have a trip and come back with info that other people saw as well, not something they saw on tv or the radio either. some people cant figure out why these beings are talking about things that are new to the person.

some people are going as far as to say they are aliens or angels, which to a skeptic it sounds funny, but there is still the issue of hearing things that other people heard as well
