Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Says the guy who can't so much as blink without first finding a YouTube video to tell him how, lol.

I'm boycotting the movie so I have to rely on reviewers that I trust. You don't even know some basic SW lore or you try to convince people that the color blue is red. "You didn't really see what you thought you saw." Just to defend KK's vision. That's a good soldier.

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

I have two questions.

Now that the weekend is over, and Solo didn't reach the box office sales Disney was hoping for, Disney is faced with the question of "why didn't it do better - why didn't more people go to see it".

Trying my best to be unbias, I think it was a combination of factors -

Infinity War and Deadpool both being out at the same time (and IW being more of a "Main event" type of movie)
Episode 8 having come out only a few months ago
Maybe people have gotten used to seeing a Star Wars movie around Christmas (instead May like they used to do back in the day)
All the controversy around the film with directors being replaced, etc.

I don't personally think there is any truth to a boycott, but maybe I'm wrong.

So now my questions: What do you think? And if you were Disney, what would you do from this point forward to try to revitalize the franchise?

deadpool had a huge drop. deadpool had no effect on this. the ones that wanted to see it saw it opening weekend and thats that.
Everyone and their loved ones saw Infinity wars and enjoyed it, i dont see why it would affect solo. marvel movies have come out with other movies and those other movies dont get the beating this got.

All 3 prequels came out in may and they did fine, as hated as they were, they didnt flop.

It might not be a boycott but i really think people just didnt care for it or will wait for blu ray. I think people might still check this when it comes to netflix or amazon prime, it might end up being the most watch movie when it comes out

I just dont think people wanted to or had the necessity to watch it in theaters. might not be a boycott but Solo is not a movie ANYONE was really that excited for when it was announced. i dont think anyone really cared except star wars fans.

boycotting :lol

It's just a movie.

I think there’s some validity to the boycott movement and I even bring with me proof!

JAWS hasn’t seen it yet lol :lol

He claims “Wed or Thurs” but I don’t believe him.

He was last seen leaving vault boy’s house heading over to pick up crows!

That sounds more like 'i'm broke' or 'wife won't let me' than boycott :lol

well, I know it was too much of a pain in the a$$ for me to get/arrange a babysitter to watch kids and take the misses out to see Solo so close after IW. She didn't want to go because she had just seen IW and we had just done this song and dance. I can't be the only one in that boat.

people are saying memorial day but this is one of the lowest memorial day openings. in previous years other movies like pirates of the Caribbean did a lot better

i just think people just didnt care

it's certainly harder to get a babysitter on memorial day weekend (at least for me)!

"Be at home, with your family."
or
"Pay someone to sit with your kid in your home while you go outside to spend money on watching a movie in a crowd with thier kids."

...

Tough decision indeed. :lol

Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th, 2018)

Next time just leave the kid at the homeless shelter or at the pet store they’ll be just fine.

Holy crap RLM LOVED IT! Not liked it but LOVED it and admit they were wrong about their prediction!

When you have multiple kids under 5 years old (that are monsters), I take the latter version every time!
