And yet you can offer absolutely zero specifics other than "I heard it was going to be Full Metal Jacket." Not very "extensive" now is it?

The RO we got was better than Full Metal Jacket anyway.

I hope that Kasdan doesn't somehow position his son Jake into taking over as director. That little dope almost asked me to jerk off in front of a urinal while he filmed it and I'd prefer not to be reminded of that every time I see the credits of a SW movie. How's that for a story you weren't expecting to read?

This whole thing can easily be rectified with more cocaine.

Sounds like Kennedy wanted to bring in another director and unlike Gareth Edwards they said no.
So they were fired.

Del Toro's movies are alright at best. I'm not worried that they're replacing him.

There is no alleged pattern of studio interference here. Lucasfilm fires directors to make better films.

I'm shocked at how well Disney sells their false narratives to fans.

I heard extensively about what Edwards' original RO was and when compared to what we got, its like comparing Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket with Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor.

You are just pulling another Irish Jedi with all these vague remarks on what happened BTS of RO when in reality you yourself don't know the specifics.

How about this? I was the cinematographer of the SW Go Rogue short film ' The Last Transmission' competition that won (Asia region winner) a trip to Lucasfilm last year during the week of RO premier.

The producer and one of the actor of the short was taken on a tour of Lucasfilm and the guide took the time to point out Gareth Edwards office when they walk pass the door. Unfortunately he wasn't around that week due to the premier so they didn't get to meet him.

This wasn't some widely publicize event with media following around. It was just a private tour for the winners from different region.

If Gareth was really fired, why would he still have an office there? It is such an odd thing for the guide to point out if he wasn't part of the production anymore.

Meh, it was going to be so much better before Del Toro was fired. I have it on good authority that the first cut was an exquisite mashup of Hamburger Hill and Le Plaisir because made up sources.

A friend of mine [who I won't name so don't ask] was on the production and got to see the original cut. He's been in the business a long time now (worked on his first feature in '97) and ironically experienced the same thing that happened on RO during said first feature. The director too was fired and someone else was brought in to reshoot the third act. That film was Godfathered by Richard Donner and Donner basically held a meeting with the crew explaining that the studio wasn't happy with the finished film and asked the director to reshoot rewrites the studio felt would "fix it". The director refused and was thus fired. Donner then asked the crew to keep it together and to exercise professionalism in moving forward with the reshoots. The difference between that film and RO was that apparently on RO Edwards agreed to play along with Disney's false narrative rather than publicly disowning the film (the way Trank did with FF on Twitter). The director of the aforementioned film did not play ball and on many occasions with press was honest about what happened.

While I respect Edwards for being political and protecting his career by basically lying through his teeth, I can't help but feel he'd actually attain much more respect by simply being honest and saying the suits hated what he did with RO and his initial hesitation to play ball resulted in Gilroy being brought in.

I have respect for the Disney Cartel.

They just sent a shockwave throughout Hollywood saying:

We don't care how far along you're into directing OUR movie if you don't color within OUR lines we will throw your *** out into the street in full public view of the press. Say hello to my little friend.

This just proves that studio producers are the ones really in control.
