Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

I'm aware lol everyone drank the Disney Kool-Aid with the Edwards fiasco and they've done the same with this.

We're living in the age of rabid consumerism where one doesn't question the product.

Nothing hotter than when you are getting frisky, and the woman is bored out of her mind. . .come to think of it, your love of Rogue One makes more and more sense to me all the time :lol

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

Yep, I'd be totally fine with Kristen Ritter coming to my house and being bored with both me and RO as long as she made that face. :lol

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

I hate it when the movie studios come in an pretend whats right for the franchise, back in the 50's, 60's and 70's director just read books and wanted to realize their vision made on the big screen, now as you can see they have to fight the studios on what they want attach their names to the project and let the studios rake in their finances, its sad thats what film making has turned into where you dont even have a voice and as you can see film different angles because in the end the director doesn't even control the editing of the films

I don't think the commercial interests and influences are all that different today than they were in the past, though we have had periods where audience tastes have fluctuated. In the 70s audiences wanted more serious, high quality dramas. In the 80s and 90s, there was more fantasy and spectacle, etc.

As Roger Corman said after Star Wars changed the industry: "The A movies have become the B movies and the B movies have become the A movies."

I don't think there was ever a specific overwhelming corporate takeover of Hollywood, it was corporate from day one once Universal formed in the start of the 1900.

Ironically enough it was SW that ushered in the largest merchandising presence though.

Well, its a battle right now. Some studios are giving the filmmakers complete control (FOX is excelling at this) while others are driving them away by giving them no room to breathe (Marvel Studios is notorious for this and now it seems to be the case for Lucasfilm as well).

In a perfect world, suits just pay the bills while auteurs tell the story. In a perfect world.

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

Disney has always had the reputation of tight-grip control. Controlling children is a specific formula and must be followed precisely for full immersion. :D

Yet the monster keeps cranking out the hits.

Fox on the other hand hasn't had a break-away hit since 2009's Avatar... and I'm not sure anyone would call that a "Fox" movie.
