Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)
Lol he's absolutely the real deal. You've def seen stuff he's worked on.

Like I had told you before, the Disney cut of Edwards' movie (Gilroy's cut) completely rewrote Galen Erso's character. Jyn and Krennic are also very different but still recognizable. Krennic isn't the "**** me, nothing ever goes right for me character" in the original cut that he became in Gilroy's cut. Jyn is far more selfish and very much an anti-hero. There's more Vader. Alot more Vader.
I hope you were at least able to recognize that your friend who claimed to watch the super dark hardcore "Gareth Edwards" cut was totally full of it unless he actually is Edwards, one of the film's editors, Kennedy or Gilroy.

I'm curious as to what you think would have been a darker SW story than one that had all the good guys dying. Saving Private Ryan level gore?
While I can't discuss Edwards' original cut in detail, I can tell you about the
the way it opened.
Krennic and [Galen] Erso sit on a table outside, in a city occupied by the Empire, eating lunch. Stormtroopers carry out bodies around them, prisoners are loaded into ships and separated into camps, all kinds of chaos. Meanwhile, Krennic and Erso continue to calmly eat their lunch. They talk about a woman Krennic executed a few days earlier that's still on his mind. "I must have asked her a dozen times to tell me where they kept their munitions. I had to shoot her. This conflict is exhausting. I can't wait to go home. I need a break." Erso laughs and tells him "You're just bored. You need to focus on the 'prize'." Krennic argues "There are people who will never bow before The Emperor. People that would die a proud death challenging The Empire. Some people you just can't break." A woman suddenly breaks free from one of the prisoner lines. Stormtroopers chase her. Erso sees her running towards him [and Krennic] and knocks her down. Stormtroopers arrive and keep her at her knees with their blasters aimed at her head. They ask Krennic what to do with her. Krennic looks at Erso and tells them its Erso's problem. Erso laughs. The Stormtroopers now ask Erso what he wants them to do with her. Erso tells Krennic "The key to breaking someone's will is showing compassion." He kneels down and smiles at her and tells her "Everything's going to be alright." The woman is relieved, while Krennic rolls his eyes. Erso then gets back to his feet and shoots her in the head. Erso laughs hysterically. Krennic shakes his head and begins to laugh. Erso tells Krennic "For a minute there, you really thought I was going to let her live, didn't you?" Krennic replies "Galen, this is why I like you. You're a sadist. People like you are gonna make the Empire unstoppable." The Stormtroopers drag the woman's body away while Krennic and Erso continue eating.
That's how it opened.
