Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

I won't call SNIKT a liar but it does sound like he's the victim of some serious trolling by his one "friend." You just have to do the math. Because Gareth was either shooting a scene right from the script which means Kennedy approved it or he completely fabricated that whole little scenario without her, complete with impromptu set/location and totally improv'd lines fed by *him.*

Gareth: "Okay guys I know the script has Krennic raiding Galen's farm but instead just say the lines I'll give you and start blowing away female extras at random. It'll be great and I'm sure that Kathleen will love it."

That is SO not Gareth's style, lol. He thought that just having Jyn die at all would be too much for Disney so he didn't even pitch that idea until Kennedy said, "you're having her live, why?" But the same guy who second guessed a heroic death WOULD just film a totally impromptu Reservoir Dogs opening completely off the cuff?

With the expectation that the movie would open with Galen blowing some innocent girl's head off, she gets dragged away by Stormtroopers, Galen and Krennic throw back their heads in laughter as the movie cuts to the starfield and triumphant opening title music? :rotfl

It just doesn't add up.

And when you're done with the car, you can start on these...

A director could easily get fired wasting valuable time and spending money shooting off script like that who would be dumb enough to do that.

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

With regard to Vader I definitely think that his portrayal in ESB is untouchable but I *would* rank RO Vader as second best. Yes even above ANH.

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

Oh wait....

lolol

Yeah that's a good way to be forever stuck making cartoons and adaptations of old TV shows.

If I never see another animated Lego movie I will still die a happy man knowing I got to enjoy another great SW movie.

I think you had your quotes reversed.

That old hag turns me on lol

I wonder if old Frank watches her hot young girl friends taking turns on her with the strap ons.

They say she's got more hot girlfriends than Singer has boy toys

I can agree with this. RO Vader is everything SW Vader is, except with better fighting.

Too bad it was wasted on RO.

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

Seems like Galen's the better villain in the SNIKT cut.

It's amazing how this 'friend' told SNIKT the opening in such detail that he can actually write it out word for word two years later. I mean, did he dictate the scene and let you take notes, SNIKT?

:lol

I called him and asked him if it'd be okay to share the opening. I had him read Khev's recent posts and he was impressed with how much detective work Khev has made to try and discern where the two cuts differ.

He sent me the paragraph I posted in spoilers and told me that was as close to what he remembered happened. Said the lines might be slightly off but he remembers the actress who played the woman
Erso kills had beautiful eyes and they had a gorgeous close up of her eyes along with Mikkelsen's right before he stands up and kills her.

I like the opening alot because it sets the tone for what this film was going to be. A war movie. The scene reminds me alot of the Nazis in Schindler's List. Ruthless and unnecessarily cruel. I also prefer that version of Erso ten times more to the two-dimensional character we got in the end.

WHAT!? Need to know more.

I think Vader choking Antilles is one of his all-time best moments on film.

1. Bridge walk way battle-cutting off Luke's hand-I am your father
2. Killing Antilles
3. RO battle
4. Stopping Han's blast shots-pulling his gun
5. Choking Motti

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

I like Mads typecast as a villain as much as the next guy, and SKNIT's version is like he says, borderline Nazi caricatures, yet that sounded better than the vapid non-characters we got.

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

I actually thought you'd dig Edwards' original opening.

I like villains, yes, but the conceit makes no sense to have Galen execute an innocent. Galen's still just pretending to be a 'bad guy' in your version, yes? But in your proposed opening, he's educating Krennic in how to be evil. Then later Krennic is reacting to Galen as if he was always a problem. It just doesn't measure up.

Might be realistic if this was real-world, yes, but it isn't likely to ever be in a Star Wars movie.

Is your claim that this was all in the original Kennedy approved script or that Gareth completely changed the characters and lines once the cameras started rolling?

Re: Han Solo: An SJW Story (May 25th, 2018)

Is your claim...

Lol dude, you wanted to know, I ask the guy to okay me sharing the opening and you're still saying stuff like this.

Again, you're hanging onto what you think these characters were based on footage released by the studio. What you read earlier was from footage Disney never released because they rewrote Erso's character completely along with some others. Basically, none of Erso's original scenes would make any sense if inserted into Gilroy's cut. The Erso in Gilroy's cut is essentially a good man. The Erso in Edwards' original cut isn't.

The studio probably hated what Erso was and what in result made Jyn out to be, and had Gilroy rewrite those characters.

Yup,

They would've never recovered from that scene, Jyn would've been a monster for loving him which means we the audience wouldn't have cared for the main hero of the movie, Jyn.

That is almost Anakin killing kids unrecoverable bad.

I know being edgy is just so cool but it would've been a big mistake showing him do that.

Sure he must've done bad stuff in the service of the empire at one time in his life but it would've been a big mistake showing him actually assassinate an innocent.

The little screen time he did have was better utilized than showing him a direct killer.

As it stands the destruction of Alderaan in ANH is enough to give his character meaning in RO.

He creation killed millions even with the sacrifice of him and his entire family.

That's more poignant and powerful than him showing off to Krennic in some super evil manner.
