Right now it really only sounds like Fiege who is done negotiating. Everyone else seems to want the deal to happen again. Ironic since Fiege is the one that created this whole mess.

One bit of irony nobody seems to be mentioning- MJ aka Michelle Jones - is an MCU creation. She’s not Mary Jane Watson. She’s possibly off limits as she was only in the MCU shared Spider-Man movies. I’m curious to see how the rights to her are split. The third Spider-Man film would almost require him to go in complete isolation from his family and friends to avoid the awkwardness of them missing.

Disney is being ****ing greedy.

If any of us were in Sony?s position, you?d do the same thing. It?s being reported that Sony offered 25% to Disney before telling them to stick it. 25% is huge. Disney gonna Disney. **** em?.

And yeah, Disney has the merchandise cut, 100%.

Greedy or not Sony sucks at making movies and won?t touch the numbers Disney did. Disney saved Spider-Man from being irrelevant, gave him a prominent place in the mcu and saved the damn brand. What has Sony done? Sit back and collect the money after Disney cleaned there mess. Trying to bank off the success Disney did. I?d ask for a bigger cut to. ****. You didn?t hit a billion with your movies and never will.

I know. Marvel ain?t perfect. But Sony will forever suck *** for almost killing marvel?s greatest superhero

It?s gonna be a total **** show I don?t see how any spidey fan can be cool with this. It?s a mess. It?ll be a soft reboot or some ****

Spiderman will never be ?irrelevant?... like Batman or Superman, people might dislike certain approaches, but ultimately, the character always comes back.
Sony and Spiderman will do just fine.

Really? Cause back in 2013 Loki, rocket raccoon , and Thor were more popular than Spider-Man.

Also Superman is pretty damn irrelevant today. An icon yes but nowhere near the popularity of marvel characters now.

So saying Sony and Spider-Man will be just fine when the franchise got outsold by gotg is hilarious.

I guess some here like Jamie foxx ?s take on electro.

Fine my *** lol

do yall still plan on watching Sony's Spiderman movies?

I'm going to wait and see. If it looks good, and if it's well-received, then maybe. If it's just Venom-level or worse, I'm not wasting my time on it.

And if they end up rebooting the character again, I'm not seeing it. I don't need to see a new Spider-Man over again. A reboot will show that there is little to gain on spending time to watch those stories.

Thats it Sony has now taken full control of Tom Holland so any Spiderman talk by the actor from here on out is from Sonys point of view and his first public statement under Sony is that the new Spiderman movie will be bigger, better, cooler, exciting and something very different.

There you go I hope the 5 of you are happy now lol

So cooler and different!

Remember when Holland said he would never give up his MCU ticket.

Poor kid Sony took his ticket lol

I didn?t say anything about popularity... we were discussing relevance, and as you rightly pointed out, Spiderman is an icon, just like Superman, and people will go and watch the movies when they come out. Will they make a billion + at the Box Office? Who knows, but it doesn?t mean the character has become irrelevant.

Tell you what though, if sony throws in sinister six plus Venom + Carnage + Spiderman that movie alone might break EG record at the box office, fighting side by side with different spiderman from the Spiderverse dang.

How TF will they explain what will happen with the FFH storyline now, that multiverse theory is sounding pretty mighty fine now

Did did did you just say that by Sony putting Venom and Carnage in their Spiderman movie it could possibly beat EG box office.

Venom!!!!!

Carnage!!!!!!!!

Could you hang around for a few minutes I need to go find Khev, Clown and Ironwez lol

Yes, they definitely should throw into one movie as many villains as possible. Because that worked so well for Spider-man 3. :lol

That's Genius!!! I agree definite $2 billion+ easy!! Imagine when WB/DC finally do a team up with Batman & Superman!! Or even better, the whole damn Justice League!! Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman, even throw in The Flash!! All on screen together for the first time...EVER!! Guaranteed block buster and box office record setter!!!

Oh, wait....... :monkey3 .... :rotfl ....

But you said the character would be fine. Back in 2014 he was being overshadowed by d list characters that?s not good at all. Icon or not that?s not how u handle a property when a raccoon is more relevant than the face of marvel

Sadly you can?t just do that. These characters take development and Sony is awful at that. Look at asm2 how they rushed the hell out of trying to get to s6. It was awful. Venom is complicated cause he has that spidey connection but that?s gone now. Carnage is popular but not box office cursing popular.

I highly doubt Sony can handle multiple characters on screen. They?ve proven this twice already

We'll most likely just see Kraven instead of the Sinister Six or Venom. Don't overreach!

When batman 1966 popped up none of the villains need intros, kind of tells you how much the audience has changed in regards to niche audiences.

I mean if you ever have a chance read the Book Who is Michael Ovitz? He goes in detail on how Sony wanted a piece of the motion picture pie and how the Japanese negotiate and their whole entire business culture on how they managed to survive from almost going bankrupt and made themselves a powerhouse with the acquittal of Paramount Pictures into the Playstation era and United Artists acquisition.

If no one believes Disney is the bad guy, jeezus not even kidding Eisner hated agents with a passion and it?s sad how Disney screwed Robin Williams out of any royalties regarding Genie but robin put on a happy face thanks to immortal recognition, Robin Williams payment was a freaking art piece no money, how Eisner brought over his best friend michael ovitz since the 60?s and told him in his face that he wanted to ruin CAA because he?s tired of paying top dollar for actors because of his agents, it goes in minute detail how the house of the mouse IS Horrendous and scrupulous in negotiations. Don?t blame sony for bringing honor to the table and their franchise.

That corporate climate hasn?t changed much since Iger was his second in command and was more pliable than Eisner,
I mean bashing Sony is everyone?s right but understanding how Disney treats hollywood makes me applaud the fact that Sony stood their ground and Won.

Sony knows the MCU formula thanks to Feige now, it won?t fail.

Yup and the same producers from S3 are still there at Sony!

Yup great point look at JL.....JL for crying out loud!

If you notice Marvel figured out the secret they might?ve had 20-30 heroes coexisting but they kept the primary villains down to a very minimum per movie only what was needed.

To his other point ain?t no freaking way any Spiderman movie will be beating IW or EG box office hell not even Marvel themselves or IX will ever top EG opening weekend and total box office.

I have no love nor support for Disney anymore either. In my opinion, the only thing I love more than Marvel/DC characters would be SW. And they went and ****ed that **** up way worse. But they were in control from day one. Marvel already had the MCU set in motion, so it's just now they are dipping their corporate agendas into the MCU, as the upcoming slate of movies in Phase 4 is a clear indication of. They are trying to show how great and proactive they are to changing sociopolitical climates. Pandering to everyone, especially the SJW crowd. All you need to see is their casting choices on sooo many movies.

They and Apple both should be the poster children for greed today in corporate America. They are so big and powerful and have the media and people brainwashed/scared into thinking they are great, wholesome, genuine honest family oriented corporations...

But in this particular case of Disney v Sony over Spider-Man, Sony's not just greed but stupidity and arrogance, is outshining Disney.

:)

Disney is just as bad. Not defending Disney but I?m also not going to trust the people who almost killed a well known brand. They tried to follow the feige formula but they fell flat on there ***. They are desperate for a hit. They are a dying studio and they know they are either going to get bought or go under
