Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I think it looks stupid but I'll reserve final judgement until I see what they do in the movie.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

It just seems weird for a guy that can swing around find the need to glide.

But I do understand with how the MCU is, the webs would serve a purpose and it does look like he used them to glide over a helicopter... which is odd since the air over a copter is being pulled into the blades from above to give it lift right?

I know Tony gave him the web wings in Civil War to glide partly so he didn't have to use web fluid he didn't have to use.

Plus, he isn't just going to be in New York in this movie and going to Europe or something. London I think? so not every city he's gonna be in will have the luxury of having skyscrapers everywhere like New York

Gliding between places to swing from? Saving web fluid cartridges?

Okay saving web fluid I'll give you guys that.

Still Spider-man gliding and not swinging, it's odd.

I didn't like it when Spidey 2099 got a new suit and he can glide like Batman Beyond now.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I'm betting good money that the scenes put together in the trailer preview are from two completely different scenes.

He looks like he is in his homemade suit especially judging by the web-shooters from the beginning with Happy, so I'm imagining that that portion is a flashback to Civil War to when he got his new suit. I'm guess the web-wings will be utilized specifically against The Vulture either as a fail safe after being out of webfluid or as a way to level the playing field. I wouldn't even be shocked if the "upgrades" that people were talking about Tony giving him was all just a call back to the Civil War suit as a way to connect this film directly with the MCU and that he create the webwings on his own. It'll be a used in battle kind of thing for this one villain and not a set thing I have a feeling.

You know what, that is actually a very interesting idea. I like it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I'm sure it is, that's clearly the homemade suit he's wearing.

Either that's a flash back, or segments of the movie takes place both before and after Civil War. I'm hoping for the latter, I'd love to see more crime fighting in his homemade outfit. At least an intro montage or something.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

While that could be cool, didn't they say they're not making this another retelling of the origin story? I think it'd make more sense for the timeline to flow in a linear fashion as they have been for the most part in the MCU.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

That wouldn't be an origin story. He told Stark he's had his powers for six months.

Either way it seems he gets his upgraded costume.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

They look like they're meant to function as a wingsuit. They wouldn't add them to the costume in the MCU and call attention to them as an upgrade.if they weren't going to serve a purpose, ie just be esthetic.

Yup this. It's the MCU, not the comics. They'll make it more grounded to fit in with the "realistic, practical, scientific" world that they started.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Vulture in the old (I'm talking Ditko/Romita eras) comics always tried to get Spider-man so high up that there was nowhere to swing from. Against a flying enemy, those gilder wings might just save Spidey's life.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

This whole thing has got me drooling now for a HT Keaton Vulture. :drool

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Now I see these trailers to find out what the Hot Toys figure will look like. I like the Ditko style Spider-Man with Web wings so I'll buy this.

Also it looks like the movie will show his sloppy homemade first costume so it's a safe bet it will be a figure too.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Don't forget jimmy kimmel tonight or do I don't care for the guy but just in case you forgot Spider-Man tonight!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

No one is worse than Fallon but I'll just wait for it to pop up online. No need to watch the show, it'll be on Facebook right after.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Eh, Kimmel isn't funny to me so I'll just watch the trailer online. It'll be up almost instantly after it airs.
