I used to like Gadget from Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Brittany, from Alvin and the Chipmunks.
But Sonic? That's just weird.
I was actually not that much into Sonic; twas merely a jest. I have only one game (Sonic Heroes), which isn't even working now so I'll probably throw it away, part of my "trimming my interests" plan. I just played some other ones by swapping with other kids. I preferred all the Nintendo stuff. Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, Starfox, etc. But for some reason my mother never bought me lots of those games. I never got the main consoles, though I had the handhelds. So I had one per franchise; no more. Weird. Still, I loved them, Pokemon especially. Playing with other kids way back when they were just starting was a gaming experience like no other. That and LAN Parties. But Pokemon was everywhere to the point that even around my neck of the woods we had it concurrently with the big markets. That and Yu-Gi-Oh. I even managed to find some small Pokemon "figures", which was a big deal as I could rarely find movie/vidya/comic/etc merch.
I liked the Playstation Animal Mascots too, if we're on that subject. Sly, Ratchet, Jak. Shame that XBOX doesn't have any. Aside from Halo I never cared for their other exclusives, like Gears Of War. I guess Fable was kinda okay? There's only one GoW and that's the GOD Of War, capisce? I bought Gears 3, probably because of the hype, but I'm thinking of throwing that away too. I don't see the point in keeping it. The world's just not interesting to me. It reminds me of all those 00s/10s shooter games/franchises like Killzone, Red Faction and so on. I think I liked Resistance the most, but still, eh. I don't even care for Modern Warfare. Crysis was more memorable and I want to get the 3Zero fig one day. And I really liked Infamous too, but that's fizzled out. Prototype was more fun in the beginning, but looking back Infamous stayed with me more. Maybe because Prototype was a kinda Post-Apoc game, and I'm not a fan of the genre, while Infamous, especially 2, was more lively. Prototype and Crackdown are really fun games to mess around with, bust something's missing. Also, I still maintain that Web Of Shadows was a great Spider-Man game as well.
Anyway, I genuinely loved R&C back in the day. All those wacky guns were extremelly fun to play. Compared to those, Sonic didn't feel all that "radical", which was the main element that set him apart from Mario. And Mario's just Mario, the whole world's too fun to get lost in. Mario, Luigi, Wario, Bowser, Kong, they're all memorable characters. There's never been a Mario game that I played and didn't enjoy. Even the Sports and Mini-Mario ones. I went through my "DARKNESS, NO PARENTS" phase, but it was centered on DC's Vertigo, Marvel's Horror stuff, 40K and Spawn. Todd should've let it rest or just rebooted with different people periodically. This thing is a farce. Not to mention that with his ****** toy company, we'll never get a decent Spawn figure, let alone a high-end 1/6th scale one. I remember trying to find the PS2/XBOX Spawn game, and also the TNBC one. Oh yeah, I was really into the whole "Hot Topic Jack Skellington" thing.
Thankfully I never "liked" any anthropomorphic animals. I'm screwed up in other ways, as is everyone partially raised by the interwebs, but I dodged that bullet.
