There was one outside my home recently. The neighbors freaked out.
I'm tossing them out of the yard here all the time..I won't kill them though..I think they are contributing to the lack of mice, rats and venomous snakes we've been seeing here...the last baby copperhead that showed up here a couple years back bit my aunt on the foot.. first time I'd seen one in forever..and I haven't seen one since despite searching them out.
Sounds pretty similar to the Allo dio. I agree that they could have made it more exciting, but I kinda like that it matches the fossil. Actually that's the biggest draw for me. I know I'm in the minority though.
Yeah it sort of does..but I maintain there had to be some way..even tossing in a third one..something to also show they worked in a pack.
The piece is mostly accurate to the fossil ( I think the actual fossil shows the raptor to the side not pinned beneath the Proto ) which I certainly get as being a draw for sure...but it could have done with a better pose regardless..I'm sure there lots of nice possibilities in the actual fight..it's like taking pics with a camera of an action scene. The image chosen from all those just could have been better I think...I foot placed here a neck turned there.ect..that can all be adjusted with creative license by either the concept artist or the sculptor.
Say the Protoceratops was reeling back holding the damaged arm in it's beak..the Raptor's head could come up screeching into it's face.
Better pose, more action oriented, not so one sided, and that darn tail would be lower..
Why not partially conceal them in sand ? It was thought for a long time they might have been buried in a sand storm..that would be engaging..I hope to see something in the future done with flood waters.
All in all it's nice, but I just don't get the same feeling of power and excitment I get from the other pieces..and it bugs the heck out of me how hard it is to find a good view of both animals at the same time. :/
