It was mentioned..of course they also said Pterosaurs implying more than one and so far the Tupu has been it. I would love have more pterosaurs and of course a marine reptile or two ! Maybe make a couple for the holiday ornaments this year..a pterosaur or mosasaur would look much better than an angel on the tree anyway eh ? lol

I figure they will announce the last piece over Christmas.. or maybe early 2011..the Stego should def have pics by December if it is indeed the next one.

Would anyone be interested in a dinosaur mating scene ? To my knowledge it's never been in any kind of format other than drawings and painting.

Something ala Stout's work :

I think I might be the only one interested in a dio of two Parasaurolophus mating.:monkey5 Where did you get that pic, btw? I wouldn't mind having that in poster size on my wall.....Yeah, i'm weird. :naughty

I can see the teaser image already, giant text at the bottom: "Coming Valentine's Day 2012".

I can't actually see Sideshow doing a piece like that, though. Never seen it done in a resin kit, even.

No weirder than me..lol

That's from William Stout's book The Dinosaurs.. both editions.

It doesn't have to be hadrosaurs..but just the concept would be interesting I think.

Just ordered The New Dinosaurs, couldn't resist such beautiful art. Thanks alot Blade.:gah::lol

That's when you get it commisioned. ;) Oh man, i'd love to have a lifesize dio of two Parasaurolophus mating. Have it right in the front yard for everyone to see.:rotfl Maybe the good folks at CMStudio can hook me up.:yess:

Your welcome...lol and you'll def enjoy it.. ( Mr. Hammond voice ) " I guarantee it ! " .

I wonder if Shane would do it ? If the right number of people were interested you never know...and he does seem like the type of guy that try.. ;D

CM Studio would def hook you up...for the right price of course.. heh heh

A nice 1/20 dio featuring two Parasaurolophus would definately be something i'd buy. A Sauropod dio would be nice aswell.:wink1: Would a threesome dio be stretching it?:monkey1

Maybe a bit...lol but two males fighting over a female would work I guess..maybe the pair already started and this young Bull tries to intervene... heh heh

Why would anybody want a statue of two dinosaurs humping each other?

I'm just going to leave this thread now lol

Perfect!

Btw, what thread are we in again? :lol

Heck if I know..I just blacked out for a minute.

Because it's a beautiful and natural thing ! ..and we're dino-nuts ! heh heh

lol...yeah def. That wouldn't be a bad piece for the Holiday sculpt either ( if we get one ). 3 or 4 mini Deinonychus or something similar on a base....maybe even a group of Gallimimus..they would look great in front of a piece like the Carnotaurus..not accurate of course..but still pretty sweet.

The sculpts on these pieces are awesome....I still think the paint jobs are horrible though. I don't understand how some of you are ok with it.

Chris

I've seen a lot of crap paint jobs..even used to do some myself before I learned better. True these aren't the prototype quality paint jobs we see in all the official pics..but I don't think anyone expects that...how many times have seen some great figure, collectible, ect.. and it wowed you more in-person on every level than the original prototype ? It just doesn't happen all that often..taking that into account and the prices...they're acceptable quality pieces. If you want better contact a paleo artist and have them do a piece for you..for example a piece about the same size as the Carno will run around 500.00 or so from most.

Got some new Dinosauria info :

I talked to someone heavily involved the line...he didn't let much slip though. The Stego he has no idea when Sideshow is releasing it..but he hopes soon. According to him it is different than both the sketches in PT we were looking at.

Another lead designer is interested in doing an Edmontosaur sometime soon..I suggested a more complex base for it and others if possible.

My source also said he would love to do a Ceratosaur as well...the sentiment was echoed previously by another person involved with the line.

He said something about the holiday pieces..and that there maybe a Dinosauira one but he wasn't sure.

Marine reptiles are still on the table and might be a VS piece.

He loved my idea of doing a baby dinosaur as an exclusive extra..like a baby Apato with the adult..he said he would certainly pass all this along to a top guy.

That sounds great Blade. Sadly, i'm not too sure Sideshow will stray from the skull exclusives. I would think there are some collectors out there who would want to keep with this same tradition, as to not upset the continuity of their Dinosauria collection. I for one would love a baby Apatosaurus. Perhaps they could use that as another "breather piece", that only costs around $100.

Btw, bring on that Edmontosaurus.:D

:goodpost: Sideshow, improve on the paint apps!!!!!! :slap:gah:

Not to be trolling or anything but seriously. The paint on the Camarasaurus dio wasn't very good. My $20 Papo figs have better paint apps than the Dinosauria and Jurassic Park pieces. It's really hard justifying the price of these when you compare them to something so much cheaper that kinda looks better. I really wanted to love the Cam vs Allo dio but for $300 the paint app was just unacceptable. These NEED to look like high end collectibles, not badly painted mass produced toys. Put them next to Paposauruses, SW Battle Troll or Weta Kong vs V-Rex and you'll see what I mean. SS needs to step up in the paint department because it's a shame seeing such awesome sculpts get such poor finishing treatments.

That said I still love my faux bronze Dinosauria pieces. The FB treatment really shows off the sculpts which are this lines strong point.

Sorry for ranting.
