Re: Rogue

Hey guys I posted a comment here and now I'm getting emails that there are reply comments. How do I turn it off?

1. On the top right of this thread go to -> Thread Tools
2. From the drop down menu choose-> Subscribe to this thread
3. From there choose -> No email notification

Hope that helps.

It's not totally uncommon for them not to get back to us after the 5 day grace period. I'm sure you can get somewhat of an idea with the switching of the photos they are going to try and take on this particular statue.

Whoa wait a minute, holy crap your strands of hair in the front are different form the ones Ive seen. Yours more or less matches the prototype......

Compare it to this. The front strand just goes up and is pretty thick at the end too....

Re: Rogue

a dollar 9 months ago is not the same as a dollar today, especially since inflation for the year was 3.7%.

If the defect was because of them misrepresenting material information, then why (under good faith) am I the one that should be penalized for their shoddy product?

Theres no ifs ands or buts, its NOT 100% refund.. since they absolve themselves of any further liability.. even though it can be argued that they intentionally withheld material facts about the final product. MOST people would've reconsidered going thru the whole investment process (becauses thats what it is) had they have known that she looked like a transvestite.

Im not arguing this point any further, I am right and thats all that matters to me.

Im looking at this on the tort / civil side.

Im looking at what it would take for SSC to make amends (truly). Because their 100% refund does NOT make the consumer whole they still have to eat a bunch of other costs (opportunity costs, Im sure that 30$ 9 months ago could've gone elsewhere like the phone bill, groceries etc.) They had the benefit of our money for 9 months and we didnt. Thats a $22 500 INTEREST FREE LOAN, and they dont live up to their end of the bargain?

Seems shady to me.

You make an interesting point, but I am wondering if you would be willing to accept your point both ways. If the dollar had gone up in value over that ttile would you be ok in vetting refunded less? As for opportunity cost, had you invested in the stock market there is a great chance you would have lost the majority of it, are you OK with SS refunding you a smaller portion of your NRD? I see this like any other investment, there are certain risks involved. The nice thing about SS is that they are willing to refund you 100% including NRD on this, that's protection you won't get many other places. No one forces you to preorder and pay the NRD, its more of a courtesy extended to customers to reserve a specific item for you. Everyone is free to hold off and see what the final product will look like first, however you do risk having that item sell out on you.

Re: Rogue

We're not going to close this thread because people need to be able to discuss something like this.

And I know it's futile to ask people to be reasonable about this kind of thing. I know that if you've made up your mind that no about of logic or reason will change it.

I would ask that people acknowledge that photos can make things look vastly different depending on circumstances.

I'm sure that if you aren't satisfied with Rogue that you'll get a refund from Sideshow on it's return.

Re: Rogue

The butt is really not the issue. I understand people dont like that it was changed without telling people ahead of time. I understand why you might be mad about that. Its a valid point.
However, the bottom line is that that sculpt is the final product. If you believe these "Marvel wanted us to do it" emails people have posted to be real then its not going to changed at this point. If that is the reason/excuse for that change then we have to accept that as SS's response and we all have a choice to make about how we feel about that.
The questions that remain are more in the paint and whether or not SS is willing to stand by that QC to make that a final product as well. I am not making any decisions about them as a company or this piece's future until they give us a response as to what will be done on the paint.
They have made great stuff I own and they deserve the chance to make it right. Now we will find out if they will. Till we know what the response from them is then there is no decision to be made by me. SS has been a good company in my eyes. I'll give them the chance to correct things. But a refund is not what I would consider "making it right". If that becomes the decision and they release the next batch of normal's with the same issues that will alter how I feel about this whole situation and ultimately SS as a company.

:goodpost::exactly: And many are watching to know what they should do with existing orders or future orders, so please post the responses when you get them so we can all know how this is handled.

Re: Rogue

VAMP = Dynamite ent (less restrictive)
Rogue = Disney

My guess is the last minute changes were put into place by Disney and forced the whole thing to get all screwed up!
Disney told Sideshow, Sideshow told the factory and then we got this!
The final cast was ready and then had to be changed in effect putting the pressure on the paint crew to hurry the whole thing up

Just a guess, my own personal opinion really from deduction and emails, but why dont we find out from the source.
Its all speculation so far till Sideshow comes forward with their solution, as I am sure they will soon.
Gee. Ave making excuses for producers and saying everything is gonna be okay. Who woulda thunk it? That just never happens. :panic:

Re: Rogue

Right because we know how authentic those fake "sold out" status' can be.

I'm going thru this right now with SSC. They closed my hulkbuster exclusive comiquette told me to buy a regular. The exclusive went back in stock and the regular has many paint flaws and chips. At first I was told to ship it back myself for their deception at my own expense. Secondly I'm not debating time value of money anymore it's a simple fact of life. If I could get free money for 9 months and not have to pay any sort of interest or penalty Id think that would be a sweet deal. *insert sarcasm* the consideration btw is not for the benefit of preordering if it is then they clearly violated that contract. I didn't receive what I preordered. No one did.

So basically either agree with you or I'm wrong? Got it, moving on now :dunno

Where's that Mutley gif when I need it? :lol

Even if Disney requested changes to the body mold, it is an easy, material safe change to make to the mold. All you are doing is filing down or removing some of the metal (or whatever material they use for these molds) in the butt crack area.

This change doesn't bother me as much as the fourth grader paint jobs on the heads. There is no excuse for either of those heads to have made it past QC inspection. Sloppiest paint apps I have seen on a Sideshow product ever. :lecture

I'm going to put Ave' in the "Hank Williams Jr. vs. NFL and his MNF theme song"

He doesn't want to say to much that might be out of line and cost him and his involvement with ARH their relationship with Sideshow.

We've seen what happen to Hank Williams Jr. for speaking out of line.

Just some food for thought when listening to Ave'.

I dig that. There is always another option rather than voicing one sided BS. Shutting the hell up is always up for grabs. That option ain't possible in some folks' worlds though.

Re: Rogue

Saw this in hand today. The paint apps look MUCH better in person then they do once photographed, but still a far cry compared side by side to the proto. Pics also seem to flatten the bumm a bit more then in actually is.
The Proto bumm was a 10
The production bumm is a solid 8......
I want the advertised 10:mad:
Iphone pics attached. No googly eyes in person
