Any chance that the fact they are taking their time to respond to people is a good thing? I mean if they didn't care and are just going to fall back on their 30 day money back Guarantee then we all would have been told that by now.

I am hoping the delay in response is due to them negotiating with the factory regarding possible re-paints and even more sweeping changes given the heads do not seem to even fit while the jacket is on.

In response to some of the points Devil has made I think the issue here Devil is that most of us have had problems before that were not "fixed" but simply swept aside with the reliance on the refund or store credit approach.

As this is not a stand alone item, I mean it has Gambit in the gallery so is a companion piece even outside of the Jim Lee X-men line, then people WANT it in their collection and hate being forced to decide between having a figure that is not 100% or not having the figure at all. This is compounded for me personally by the fact that the solution would have been to simply ensure the things were painted correctly in the first place.

For me the whys and hows of these problems occurring are irrelevant, the ONLY issue is how the company will respond to fix the problem and stop it being an issue in the future. Personally for me the only "fix" is to repair the bad paint work. A token gesture in the form of an apology explaining the changes to the sculpt would also be greatly appreciated.

I am sure everyone would love to get their Rogues repainted, but how does Sideshow logistically do that for 2250 statues. I am guessing that the bean counters are trying to calculate the most cost effective solution for SS, and I highly doubt it will involve offering repaintin, unless somehow they can get the factory that produced them to refund all costs to SS and start over.

I agree 100%.

The only question I'm addressing is whether they deliberately screwed over the people who ordered the statue in order to fleece them.

I think once SS saw the horrible paint jobs on these things they were left with a choice of shipping all 2250 back to China to be repainted, which would have taken months to take care of at great expense. Or ship them on to customers and deal with the small percentage of people who will actually return the statue for a refund. In my opinion it was a deliberate business decision, because the alternative is system wide incompetence on SS part.

People were thinking SSC's wasn't coming on here and paying attention. Looks like some thinly veiled SSC's reps...perhaps unofficial.

So has anyone gotten any more followup on this issue from SSC's?

Witch hunts? Really? That's how you rationalize this? Don't drown in your idle conspiracy theories. This thread isn't about your so called "mob mentality" either.

Let me bottom line it for you. This has happened with other statue/busts from SSC before. But to change the photos on the site to match what's actually being shipped to customers is real shaky and just plain wrong. Think of how many people who don't belong to a forum like this who don't know any better. When this kind of debacle becomes a trend, it plants the seed of doubt in my head for all future orders.

Think of how many people who don't belong to a forum like this who don't know any better. When this kind of debacle becomes a trend, it plants the seed of doubt in my head for all future orders.

Probably one of the best points raised. Not everyone is on a forum that is a SSC's customer. So it's far worse to the average consumer that doesn't know what has happened.

Well I am sure the average consumer saw pictures when they ordered and would be able to adequately decide if the product they got was the product they ordered. I assume they would also be able to determine weather or not the paint job sucked and/or the eyes were messed up on the statue they received.

SS is basically a monopoly in the high end statue collecting industry and can continue the current trend of raising prices while lowering quality and still retain most of their customers (until a worthwhile competitor comes along) since collectors have no other place to turn to if they want to purchase statues of this level

Sadly I agree with you. This problem seems to be systemic in our society today.

Yeah I mean you either have SSC's and HCG and few even smaller ones. HT's owns the 1/6th market with SSC's putting out some good 1/6th as well. But as far as 1/4...SSC's is the main company.
