Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Supes looks like it'll be my 2nd PF so far, especially if the 2nd headsculpt is angry/red eyes like everyone thinks it will be.

I went through the usual 1/6 Hot Toys phase that everyone does before jumping to PFs, luckily though it only lasted long enough for me to get '89 Batman and the Dark Knight Rises Batman. I probably won't buy another 1/6 scale figure.

Wise choice, glad I never got any hot toys

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

HT are what they are man. They are ____ing gorgeous 1/6 figures generally and they keep kicking goals with their new releases, they blow any and all of Sideshow's old 1/6 sculpts away - Army of Darkness Ash anyone?

Yikes. Can't imagine HT putting out something like that. The thing is collectors ARE paying for the improvements that HT has made - I got that 1/6 Ash what 10 - 12 years ago (probably more I can't remember) and he was $75. Whats the going rate for a HT fig? $250? And if I was collecting 1/6 I'd pay it happily coz the figs are ____ing spot on.

Once I got my first PF (Ash PF :rotfl) that was it though. He just captured the look and feel of the character so much better than the 1/6 which looked like a limited edition Barbie in comparison :rotfl Now it's PF or Fail.

If I ever get a 1:1 piece I dunno whats gonna happen.

Edit: I have noticed quite a few people making the jump to PFs of late though- lots of guys in threads for new PFs saying 'I just sold all my HT, this will be my first PF'. I think those HT figs have brought a lot of people to the hobby man - which is cool.

I know that 1/6 HT are great representations of the characters but I never liked jointed characters that you could pose. I was close to pulling the trigger on a HT Iron Man which is amazing but I passed and am eagerly waiting for a PF Ironman that I can add to my lineup. I am also glad I never pulled the 1/6th trigger. I am more than happy with
my PFs.

I am absolutely happy with the '89 Batman from HT. It's just with their price point on all the DXs sitting from 250 to 280 the price gap isn't big enough for me to justify not going to the PF.

And I agree with HT bringing people in... Prior to Hot Toys my big collection was the Justice League as Black Lanterns from the DC Direct lines. The HT 1/6s really opened my eyes to the meaning of "collectibles" :rotfl

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Can't wait to get home to pre-order this bad boy from my local collectible store. Getting a good deal too for the regular one since not being in the States, this is what I have to live with :) A steal of a price still for $360 :) Whoo-hoo! I love my retailer.

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Well I'm dying for some decent 89 but I don't collect figures so I'm still debating Hot Toys because they are gorgeous and it's the ultimate 89 for now.

I just hope Sideshow does a PF/Statue of Keaton at some point.

Totally agree with u! I have 7 HT figures & after the avengers am done. I think for movie based character u cant beat HT, (compare Jake Sparrow pf & HT). But yeah Im hooked with PF it's bigger & looks like an art.
Anyway, Bat EX ordered :)

If you're going to have only ONE Keaton Batman, yes, I have to agree that the HT one is the one to get. But you gotta get at least Reeve as well buddy. Then you're finished. :panic:

Yeah, been doing the SS thing for almost ten years. I have never used any points till now. Needless to say, I still have a pretty good amount left in the point bank.

Wow ten years! You must have some amazing pieces in your collection and a nice place to display them. I am just getting into the hobby myself. Hope to one day have a nice collection and a nice space to display them in. This is actually my fist sideshow purchase. Congrats on getting this awesome piece on points.

You really should share some of your stuff with us seeing as you have been in the hobby this long. Would be cool to see what you have amassed.:lecture:hi5:

Re: Official Sideshow Batman PF

Im really torn about this piece as I've dedicated to making the DC Batman circle my first line of PF pieces (Joker, Ivy, Batman, etc). With Joker and Ivy on order, I cant really turn away from this piece even though Im not 100% about it.

:dunno

After Seeing all the up close pics at SDCC this wasn't one I was doubting. If I were you I'd jump on the waitlist for the EX or go for the reg. but don't waste too much time thinking about it. They might be high Edition Sizes but they won't be around forever.
