Yeah, I'm with others in thinking that waiting may not be the best strategy if you're holding out for something better. If it's 1/4 scale, most likely another Batman is gonna be in a completely different style. We've got 2 1/4 scale SSC Wolverines--and only 2--one is Logan, one is tiger stripe version. We've got a single 1/4 scale Hulk, with the second one coming soon via the Maquette. We've got 2 Spidermen, yes, but it took several years for that, and one is a realistically proportioned one while the other is an Olivetti styled version. Only one 1/4 scale Doom despite his popularity. Only one Steve Rogers comic Cap in 1/4 scale.

So, wait if you want to, but don't be too shocked when the next Bats we get (years down the road most likely) is even less conventional than this one.

yea, i think people who are passing are not very big batman fans. you can wait but i think this will be as close to a classic comic version that we will get for a LONG time...5-6 years at least. the next version will be either a 1/5 (fail) or a movie version, which could be cool but not the same obviously.

Believe me I still regret not getting the Doom PF the first time I saw it....

Tell me about it. When I first found SS I made numerous errors in ordering and regret them to this day!

Ouch Josh! That doom from what I understand is the most sought after SS piece around. I have never even seen one for sale. They must go for a lot of cash now if you can even find one.

yeah, I've been waiting for this Sideshow Batman a long time. i was hoping he'd be $350 but I wasn't surprised when I saw $400....they knew they had us.

Ouch Josh! That doom from what I understand is the most sought after SS piece around. I have never even seen one for sale. They must go for a lot of cash now if you can even find one.

I saw an EX on Ebay this past week, "Buy it Now" $2800. I originally saw it in the comic book store I used to work at before I worked there and was a regular Customer. I didn't have the $300 they were asking, but I wanted it and came back to the store two weeks later with the money.

He was already sold....

I saw an EX on Ebay this past week, "Buy it Now" $2800. I originally saw it in the comic book store I used to work at before I worked there and was a regular Customer. I didn't have the $300 they were asking, but I wanted it and came back to the store two weeks later with the money.

He was already sold....

I just got back from the con.

Boy people who are complaining about the price of this masterpiece have no idea how huge this PF is. I was blown away, I am still in awe. I own many PFs NONE of them come close to this as far as getting your attention. This statue deserves ONE shelve of besta by himself.

If you have seen this in person you will not complain $400 price tag, if Ivy is $350, honestly $400 is almost a bargain for this guy.

This PF is MASSIVE, the base, the cape, the cloth, ah it is a thing of beauty, pics do not do this piece a justice.

If you like Batman and you like Premium Format this Statue is a MUST for you. IMO this is the BEST PF that Sideshow ever created hands down.

Oh btw you can CLEARLY see the batarang and it's compliment the statue a lot. I thought the EX is weak before I saw this in person, I was wrong, the EX is not weak at all.

Good to know. I just hope they don't go crazy with the ES for the Ex. But... it's Batman so they probably will. Didn't they do 2000 pieces for the Darth Vader Ex PF? Although those are hard to find too. I got my Batman Ex on order and glad I'm being rea$$ured by the positive word of mouth on this piece.

Wow thats a heartbreaker for sure Josh BUT $2800 now
that is insane. I can confidently say that is a piece that will never be mine. To bad cause it is amazing but unless I win the lotto no chance.

You can find the Reg. for less, but not by much. Yeah, he's pretty well out of reach, I keep hearing rumors they might do a Standing Doom PF because there's plenty of collectors that want it. So I'll wait...if it happens, he's mine!

Of course I'll have to fit him in between DC PF purchases though

Thanks for the update Mambe its great to hear that this is as impressive in person if not more so than the pics. Also really glad to hear that the ex rang is visible and in your opinion worth getting. I had been second guess myself a bit as I could have gotton a reg and saved a few bucks at more local store but this has reassured me that I did the right thing ordering the exculsive.

Well hopefully they do Josh and you can fit it into your budget. I am not a big Dr Doom fan but if it is awesome i may have to get one myself.
