Instead of doing that they should make a date from when to when you can place an order for the exclusive. And state while supplies last during the time so the numbers won't be too high. Nevermind sounds like the PPO process.

They tried that, Inclusive Edition, with Maul and his ____ probes. SS said they would not do it again.

I think it was SSdusty that popped in this thread and told us the beret was removable...

Thanks. I guess next time I see her on here I'll ask her to ask the web crew to maybe list hats as removable on the specs if they are. If it wasn't for German Indy I would have assumed it was since it's listed separately but I was fooled once already and you know what they say about assuming.

CAHobbit posted the following on page 14 of this very thread, post #138:

"Beret will be removable. Just FYI for those that were wondering."

Not sure how much stock to put in that, but CAHobbit is apparently a employee of Sideshow.

I believe that's Alex, and she wouldn't post in here, especially with us nitpickers, if she didn't know.

well the beret is listed as an accessory and that usually means it's removable. i'm surprised they didn't show a pic of him with out it. but then i don't think too many people would display the figure without the beret as it's too iconic for this character.

good to see the usual price debate flying in in this thread. i was getting worried there.:lol

i'm guessing the GI Joe license isn't a cheap one. especially since it is kinda being "borrowed" by hasbro. that can explain some of the price hikes. and personally i think PF's are over priced. you're basically paying $300 for a figure you can never pose. you'll be forced to have Jedi Luke doing the moonwalk on your shelf forever. this is just my opinion and you can have your own. but i think these Joes are the most fun i've had with figures in a long time. i love posing them with all their different accessories. the possibilities are endless. and they hold up well to continuous posing.

I have to agree with that! I keep my Sniper in my car with me and he gets pulled out whenever I am at a slow time. I am no more than a laser sound effect from actually being playing with him.

And as soon as I get a figure with a laser, I'ma be "pew, pewin'" all over the place!

:lol you keep him in your car?? :lol That's even more hilarious because there have been times I've been sitting in traffic during the past few months thinking to myself "I can't wait to get home so I can play with my officer/trooper".... To quote Ski "true story, write it down" :lecture

A figure display case for the car would be a good idea. :lol

$125 for a figure that basicly has what the cobra trooper has is just to much...nice figure...but the $99 price tag is what it should be at, IMO. Yes, i have the exclusive FireFly ordered. But knowing an alternate head could be available makes Firefly worth the tag.

He's got a lot more than a Cobra Trooper. They just had the webgear, 2 canteens, and belt in common. Plus a knife, extra mags, 2 grenades, and the machine gun. Flint has 2 big guns, a pistol, grendaes, smoke grenades, 24 shotgun shells, and more!

He certainly comes with $20 more worth of accessories over the Cobra Trooper. And again, they come with just as much, if not more, accessories than HT's generic military figures. And they still cost less!

If SS can charge an extra 5 bucks for Duke's Binoculars then they can definitely charge 20 bucks more for what we get with Flint. Honestly, anyone who's complaining (and I have a little myself) should just go to a third party. I have the EX Duke wait listed through SS (jumped into this line right after he went up for order). He's 124.99 and that's without shipping and CA sales tax, so he'll be damn close to 150 when it's all said and done. At alter-ego he came to around $120 shipped.... Sure, that's not the exclusive but saving 30 for Duke, 30 for FF and 30 for Flint will pay for the Emperor (to me, a MUST have EX), for example. Folks need to shop around a little rather then bashing SS here....

While I've liked the Joes they have or are planning to release (Snake Eyes, Duke and now Flint), and like that SS is keeping more to a retro 80's look like the 3 3/4 RAH's, I do find that the gear does need a little updating. Being a modern military 1/6 collector as well, I see companies putting out a lot of cutting edge gear that an elite (albeit fictious) team like GI Joe would surely have access to. I think there is a way for SS to walk the fine line between respect for the source material (and nostalgia factor for those of us who grew up with RAH) and making these figures more realistic and up to date. SS has done a good job of doing modern weapons, but you would think these Joes would be sporting some sort of vest or plate carrier - I don't care how much you kick butt, it's always best to wear some sort of body armor or protection. No one really uses the old ALICE harness anymore - it's all about load bearing vests and chest rigs! Also, rather than the old canteens, how about a nice hydrator (ie Camelbak). SS seems to be a bit inconsistent with the gear. I do realize that if they made these guys too much like modern military operators, then you lose the identity and charm of the classic Joes. But as a modern, updated version of the classic RAH Joe, something seems a bit off to me. My 2 cents.

Actually not... the most recent HT pmcs (for example) have almost double the gear as flint and I got both for $119 each shipped. Plus I don't understand why some try to compare the 2 companies.

HT may charge more generally, yes but just about everything with their figures could be argued as better quality not just the headsculpt. (IMO)The clothing, gear, weapon molds, and definatley the truetype body is generally all better quality.
