customs....Pffffft. i'd have to send heads out to be painted and i'd probably never see them again like all those headsculpts i sent to DA 3 years ago. see that's what really sucks about these bad paint jobs from sideshow. i don't dare send heads for repaints anymore i cuz i never get them back.

They already released completed prison break figures and the gap between the TT38 and the TTA is too great for that. Not saying you can't, it just seemed that with Blade already released and Abigale forthcoming, that head seemed like perfect timing for Drake considering he'd be a hard sell.



The head might be bad, but that's it. Still liking and keeping the figure doesn't mean I'm an apologist. It's still cheaper than outright bashing Flint from scratch. Moreso, using this and every other excuse to pass on paying full price for Sideshow's Joes and pick them up on discount at Hastings, makes you a cheap and unsupportive bastard just like the Hissyfits.

At least Prog admits it.

being cheap doesn't mean unsupportive. i've set my value on items of decent quality at $70-$80, shoot, for this I should wait for $50. on occassion I'll throw SSC a bone and pay full price...but its becoming less and less often.

anyone who thinks they should pay $120 for that piece of garbage just to show "support" is sillier than a sock puppet because thats exactly what they'll keep giving you if you do.

Wrong. Again, if you do the match on a custom kitbashed Flint, I guarantee you, for a decent one, he'll run you well above the $120 price tag. The only thing wrong with this figure is the assy, halfassed, sweatshop paint job.

Sorry to say, Prog, but i kind of agree. This HS/Paint App is disappointing. Still, I'm going to reserve judgment until I get him in hand. These first pics are not flattering, though.
Seeing what companies like DiD and HT are doing with their sculpts and paint apps, I don't know why SSC keeps dropping the ball. Sad.

Overall the figure looks pretty darn cool. The hair paint just shows no detail at least in what we've seen. I like the skin tone as far as that part of the paint goes but the lips are kind of odd. Also I don't know how much I like that it appears they backed off the realistic sculpt with a bit softer one.

Still very much looking forward to getting this and reviewing it but right now feel kind of meh about a couple things.

I can't justify paying that much for a toy of any kind. We all knew that already. When its comes in looking like a Ken doll paint job they joke is on you still willing to pay it.

I feel bad for guys who sell older items of their collection probably for pennies on the dollar only to reinvest it at full price on substandard products like this.

I've only got a couple of items on preorder at SSC. I'm seriously thinking about cancelling and using clearance places like hastings to get everything. full price is for dummies when SSC treats their product so carelessly.

I probably spent double what Flint costs on my SB. So I have absolutely no problem spending Sideshow retail to get flint and the ex shotgun. Though, I suppose if I had a maxed BevMo credit card and had to make payments there, I'd probably be looking forward to Hastings sales too.

When this line ends, I'll still be Elite™ and you'll still be a cheap bastard. The only difference is, given the secondary market value on exclusives, my collection will be worth more than I paid for it while yours won't. Still failing to see your point?

I think that depends honestly on personal preference. I have no problems paying current prices for these figures. Now, if Sideshow wants to kick it up to the next level on paints I'd pay $150 easy for these guys.
