This is the REAL Flint...

That beret looks like ____. It's too poofy and doesn't even lay down correctly. I don't see how people think the cloth ones look better than the sculpted ones. In 1:6 scale, cloth berets just don't work.

actually, thats George Michael.

Headsculpt is looking like Franken-Castle.

Mentioning that name here is deserving of a lifetime ban. :nono

I just recently got a True Type 16 for my Steel Brigade figure that sports the Dominic Purcell head sculpt, though he may be a bit too unshaven, I think he'll make a good substitute for Flint. A better choice then the Expendables Stallone head sculpt imo. I know I'll be using it when I eventually buy Flint.

Good luck getting a beret on that fat head. :lol

They must be saving a bundle on whatever factory they're using. I'm by no means a Sideshow basher but this is my favorite Joe and I might just pass. The "got some ____ in my eye" sculpt grew on my but these paint apps make him look like some kind of commando mongoloid.

Are berets really fuzzy like Stallone's?

I have ten year old Monty Python figures with better paint apps... WTF.

So anyone still think production Beachhead pieces will retain any of that Small Studios Josh prototype promise?

I'm not saying Flint is horrible but some nice clean paint apps would make him fantastic.

Ill reserve judgement till I have mine Tues, but teh hair line looks like ass, good thing almost every Joe wears a hat or helmet. Imagine if they did T & X now...

I tried two dragon plastic flocked berets (tan), a plastic red beret (don't know from where, maybe Blue Box), and a crappy cygirl beret (just to be thorough) and all fit on the head, a bit tight, but they fit.
I plan on either using the one from Barney or a black flocked Dragon beret, I have a couple somewhere, I just have to track them down.

Yes, but that looks horribly fuzzier because the fabric just doesn't translate well to 1:6.

I have the beret from the 12" 25th Anny Flint. If Sideshow's doesn't work, I think it'll make a good enough replacement.

this sucks. i really liked the prototype and was looking foward to this guy. but not so much anymore.

I think better blending the hairline and removing some of the paint in that triangle left eyebrow to add an arch (and make it match his right) will make it look loads better, and less like a victim of failed doll-hair follicle transplants. I'm hoping there's maybe a brown wash over the hair too and that's just a bad head as was the case with Duke.
