With ssc's track record, what do you think?

I'm beginning to lose hope, I had high hopes for this line, oh well, maybe there'll come a day when a company will take up this license and produce truly high end 1/6 figures from Marvel Comics. Really need the X-Men and Fantastic Four to spice up my collection.

Me too :( I would have really liked to have some classic comic 1/6ths :thud:

These types of companies really should put out the word more on the status of the previously teased figures. I thought both deadpool and wolverine looked pretty cool, and they were just protos.

I'm having a good time with these

That's not how business works. It's far better to just keep quiet or you risk effects on your current product lines. That said, Sideshow has in fact commented on the status of Wolverine a couple of times - one just recently quoted here in the thread - but most people conveniently ignore facts. ;)

Not sure what this means, Deadpool has been available for sale for a long time and ships later this year.

You can see a lot of 1/6 Marvel and DC customs on Facebook in the OSR (One Sixth Republic) group - I believe you have to join to view however.

Well that just shows you how much I'm paying attention to this line. I do remember deadpool being available now that I think about it....clearly I have no interest in this line.

Yep. And when it's a line that you "rent" you CANT legally just announce things without permission from the license holder. You risk fines and lost of licenses and lawsuits. marvel is very good about working with companies on licensing but they also take it very very seriously. They where lax and let things go in the 90s and found out that's not the way to go. And licensing is the largest income source year to year. Comics, each issue, brings in 50-60k a year profit tops(on average). An average film 300million. (Again average...I know avengers is like 1.5 billion but that's not the standard) licensing for spiderman averaged nearly a billion each year. Just spiderman. A year.

A place like hot toys can not make a single official statement about any licensed product without permission. And marvel does not like to put info out there, or allow it. There are set phases of a product approval. If they had every company asking to announce stuff every day they would be flooded with more requests them they could handle. So marvel has a "no official announcement" policy with regards to much of the bts stuff. There's a lot more that goes into it and the thinking and reasons why...but time plays a large role. Each tier 1 and 2 character/franchise has an average of 3000 products submitted for approvals or releases or some type of action every month.

Most of these licensing company's can't share info even if they wanted too.

That opinion piece in Forbes is based on the exact same rumor. There's no reporting in that piece, no fact-finding, no interviews, nothing. Just the exact same unsubstantiated info.

It isn't just uninformed wacko forum readers spreading rumors. Here is an article from Forbes.
Marvel is Killing X-Men and Fantastic Four Merchandising - Forbes

Lack of a denial is usually the same as admission.

Lack of denial is not a confirmation. It is, in fact, just a lack of denial.

And again...I didint just say it's on forums..I specifically mentioned articles multiple times. Bleeding edge has one, Forbes, cnet, superhero hype. Comic book resources. That does not mean it's true.

And if you in fact take the time to read the article...I know people here have a problem at times with things that are longer then five words, hope that's not you...it actually says BOTH Marvel and FOX denied and merchandising hold is in place.

They mention the XM issue again. Which they know nothin about.

New xmen PF announced. Release over a year out. So...that blackout some are claiming..another item to show its crap. And that the XM studio issue is specific to them only and not a sign of some overall marvel plan. But there will be someone else that makes that claim anyway.

Yea. Unfortunately that's true.

I'm looking forward to seeing this at SDCC though. The first set of prototype pics where pretty good. With an updated body it should still be good. Never liked the head all that much but if it doesn't improve I'll just do a custom. I'd love to see a xforce version and classic yellow as well.
