After a year of this thread I have officially lost interest. Probably due in some part to the turn this thread has taken. It's not even about the figure anymore just a lot of condescending talk about licensing....:dunno

What difference does discusion on here make on interest in a figure? Every thread or forum or Facebook or Twitter has the same thing. So I take it you dislike everything, right?

As for the talk...given that there has been only two days with actual news out of nearly 350 what exactly would you like to see? Cat memes for 40 pages? Outside of direct new release info on a figure licensing is the next closest thing. And when people go around talking and claiming that marvel has pulled the licenses for (meaning pulled all permission) all xmen and fantastic four goods (essentially saying it's all canceled) that seems like about as on point a topic as you can get. What exactly would please you?

I bet if I look at your posts every single one is only news or direct figure critique in every single thread. No silly gifs or memes. No off topic discussions.

Complaining about the people talking about the process by which we get these figures is the same as going to a ford or Chevy or Nissan forum and complaining when they talk about rebuilding (or building) a motor for the car. Like it or not, understand it or not, care or not, licensing is an integral part of toy manufacturing. As for the "tone"...that's subjective. People read into it what they want.

Cat memes are tempting...

Licensing discussion has been pretty interesting though. I don't get why people feel they're being condescended to when the conversation goes over their head.

I do not dislike everything, for example I have the star spangled Cap and like it :wink1:. I do not post memes or GIF's, nor do I care to see 350 days worth of cats. I usually reply about my interest or opinions as it relates to figures and it is seldom negative. I am very forgiving when the costumes or head sculpts are a bit off, well because at the end of the day they are just toys, albeit expensive ones. I didn't post to start some kind of sidebar argument or conversation with you. Merely to state my opinion that this thread and all of the licensing and I know licensing talk is a bit exhausting. If you are asking what would please me I would be happy to share. More talk about the figure the expectations of it people's interest in it and things of that nature. I find pontificating about licensing and speculation about the inner workings of the supposed Marvel/Fox war a bit exhausting. That is just me though I am sure others enjoy that type of conversation. Everyone is entitled to their opinions here and I just posted mine. So if you are offended I apologize, however I didn't name names or say anything negative about you or anybody else. I am not a keyboard tough guy. So again sorry if I offended. Now I will return to my cat videos, GIF's and memes. Be well.

"Glorified megos/Cosplayers" :slap people please.

SDCC-2014-Sideshow-Marvel-Sixth-Scale-Figures-007.jpg

Come on Sideshow, COME ON!

Let's just hope they don't give him rubber arms. Seeing as pretty much every HT figure using rubber has issues ranging from melting, tearing to breaking of the joints, just imagine what a nightmare it would be with Sideshow's infamous quality control. Plus this being a comic book figure you want to be able to put it in dynamic poses.

QC and material selection are two different things. IMO, Sideshow hasn't shown the complete level of understanding and care that HT has repeatedly demonstrated in this respect. There are plenty of materials that the arms can be made of that won't break down nor tear on their own.

Personally, I haven't had any QC issues with my SSC figures, maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones...
But I agree, I hope they do not give him rubber arms. I don't necessarily mind rubber on figures that I'm likely to pose a little more museum-like. Wolverine is perfect for more dynamic poses, especially with sharply bent arms. Almost all of the classic, iconic, art of Wolverine has him with claws out, and arms bent, ready to engage in serious ***-kickery. If the figure has rubber arms, I'm going to be less inclined to leave him in dynamic poses, if only to keep the figure looking top-shelf.

:dunno

My SS Creature from the Black Lagoon with his rubber sleeve body looks just like the day I took him out of the box over 10 years ago.

I would think Wolverine is the same. A rubber sleeve over a plastic articulated arm.

The issues with rubber are not near as bad as some people seem to infer/think. I have over twenty figures with rubber bodies and not a single issue. I do have plastic figures with problems. Broken ankles and wrists and iron man arm plastic broken and what not.

I have no issue with rubber arms or rubber in general. If you treat it well there should be no issues for the most part. There will be a 5-10% failure rate on any mass produced item. Plastic, metal, carbon fiber, titanium tri dipped composite...whatever it is there's gonna be some that break. That's why hot toys supplies the authorized distributors with a chain for product replacements. But I see no higher risk with rubber them I do with any other material.

Now sideshow figures are not the same level as hot toys, at least thus far. And that's not surprising. It takes years to develop a good manufacturing process and sideshow has switch factory's a few times. It takes time and practice. Yes the price is higher. But the beginning of a new product line costs are much higher then later on. So it is was it is.

I think the figure looks pretty good. Head not so much. But I've come to expect some odd faces on most wolverine products. I will be offering a custom masked head for sale if there's enough interest On my way! hen this releases. If not I'll just make mine and that will be fine.

I like aspects of this figure but I'm not sold on it from the prototype shown. I like that the classic suit design but the outfit itself looks a bit cheap. His arms look sort of odd to me too.

See. So much for that line of "it's never coming..xmen has been killed by marvel...yada yada.

I'll ask collectorguy if they are rubber or not.

You can tell all that from the blurry and low resolution phone photo I just posted? Because each of those things has been re-done from what was shown last year at SDCC.

I wasn't trolling. And offered to get you an answer. But never mind.

I was pointing out that the continued (there are a few people that go board to board, thread to thread pronouncing the death of xmen becuase of rumor and this figure was one they brought up as PROOF. If you make those claims and get adamant about it you should own up to what you said. Some people think even if you say it on the internet it counts. Some think they can say anything and wonder why people take it serious.

go back like three pages. You will see people making claims that there will be no more xmen anything. And that to say otherwise is rumor, and you need proof (which is the opposite of how it works) and when I stated this figure would be on display at SDCC they made snide comments and that they would be here to mock how wrong i was. Some of that part seems to be deleted now. And they are no where to be found. Sorry if you think it's trolling. I think it's accountability for statements made.
