Jim and Stan? :horror

That must have been awesome :monkey2

Meeting them was a fanboy's dream come true, especially Stan Lee!

I still have one of the items Stan signed.

The other stuff and pictures all burned up in a fire. :monkey2

I need to take a better pic of this.

Cool story sir, Jim and Stan are awesome with fans.

:lecture :lecture Indeed they are, Sir!

I do have the PF :lecture

Then I would def say go for it. I'm looking for that epic pic with both next to each other and my CGC siege #3 thor sketch variant comic displayed next to each other. (single tear runs down my face)

:yess:

It seems like I am the only person who likes Byrne, Cockrum, and Lee? :dunno

I don't get it because all three of these artists transformed X-Men and led to a resurgence of fan interest comics. Byrne and Lee

As far as all the hate toward Jim Lee, fans in their 30's have the collectible buying power so many companies are going to target that audience.

This post is spot on. I would get statues from any of these artist representations. To put Jim Lee down is just silly. :dunno

I think there's still some misunderstanding here. I for one don't hate Jim Lee, and I certainly don't remember anyone putting him down on this thread.

For the umpteenth time, all I'm asking —all we're asking— is for some people to have a broader perspective on Marvel. There's more to Marvel and the X-Men than Jim Lee. Is that really so hard to understand? Most 'JL addicts' just happen to be raised on him and that's all fine and good and I can relate to that, but that doesn't make him the comic-book god and the only possible reference for a statue.

And, again, yes, I know the X-Men PF line is supposed to be based on JL. But let's face it, complaints about a statue not being a Jim Lee design are thrown around every five posts, even on non-PF threads. And it gets tiring.

You know what's silly? To keep posting 'Jim Lee or fail'. Now that is silly. And juvenile.

Oh, and I'm "a fan in his 30's with some buying power", btw. :)

The best solution is to create a Bryne, Cockrum, Silvestri and other artists line in the same scale as the PFs. Anything less would be a pity as they are great artists. To display different sets of X-men costumes next to each other in the same size will be a godsend.

I think you are overreacting, of all the posts I see many that prefer JL but only really one that says JL or fail.

The best thing you can do is follow your own personal collecting ethos. Same as everyone else. There happens to be a lot of JL fans kicking around here, just as there are the 1/4-only guys. They like what they like, and you like what you like. If you take things too seriously, the jokes on you --something I learned the hard way :lol. You can wish all you'd like for a broad take on X-men artists, just as much as the JL fans want JL only. There's going to be disappointment from the camps when what we were hoping for doesn't come to fruition, and we're going to be vocal on message boards about it: vice versa. Just part of message board life.

:lecture Well said!

As long as you are happy with what you are collecting it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. :D

Totally agreed. On that note is anyone available tonight to review my collection to tell me what sucks in it so I can throw the rest in the garbage...
:thud:

That is an easy one. Your whole collection sucks, now mail it to me. :wink1:

NO, NO, NO, I'M NOT OVERREACTING!!!

j/k. Hey Crysis, it says on your info you joined the forum this month, so you may not be aware how old the Jim Lee tune is. I didn't mean this thread specifically. ;-)

Hehe, I don't think I take things too seriously, it just annoys me to see people do the broken record routine, as it would in real life.

Well, I am happy with what I'm collecting and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks about that. It's what everyone keeps pestering about that gets me. :D

Oh, dear, maybe I do take things too seriously. :monkey1 I'll promise to count up to ten before the next 'JLOF' brings out my cantankerous old devil side. :peace

Thats cool. A few years back I got him to sign a copy of a Spidey comic. He was really really nice and took time to talk with each one of us that walked by.
