Yea, I feel bad for bigsilva for having the three problems so far on this piece, but nevertheless, it looks fantastic! :D

Looking forward to more in-hand pics!
Yeah, that sucks for the silvmeister. I'm sure he can get a replacement though.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.
Now I am a bit disappointed. I thought the final piece would come out great but there is something that bothers me... :monkey2
Could you elaborate, Barry? What's eatin' ya?

don't you guys think that his helmet is way too big ???

I dont mind the likeness, but this statue has absolutely no power. He's standing there like he is putting a book back on a shelf, not as if he's wielding the mighty Mjolnir.

:exactly: , he doesn't look like he's holding a powerful weapon

:lol:lol:lol I always thought he looked like he was a rock singer raising his microphone to the crowd while they sang the harmony of one of his songs. "Thank you, St. Louis!" :rock

It's the paint job on the portrait with helmet. It doesn't look as good as SSC prototype. The paint seems too thick or something. Doesn't look natural. Also the paint on the hammer is kinda grey-ish. But I hope I will change my opinion when I receive mine...

I hope so too. I see what you mean. Thanks for explaining. Seeing a piece in person is definitely the ultimate viewing method with which to judge it properly. I'll post some pics and give a brief review tomorrow.

The lighting plays a big factor. Some details get washed out and such but Barb is right, wait until you see it in person.

I believe the slits in the pants are intentional. There are two in the same spot on each leg, and there is another layer of grey material sewn underneath. I think it was supposed to be this way, and although I'm not that excited about it, I believe their response will affirm my suspicion and they will say it's not a flaw.

However, I also have damage in two spots on his chest piece with scratching and two sloppily repaired and repainted breaks. That kind of thing should NOT pass through quality control. Then the paint chipped off of his collar on the helmeted head. Also, someone stuck their thumb in the number on the base and smeared it. I hate to be nitpicky, but there are several little things that are going to cause me to return this one.

Sorry for you Tomandshell :monkey2

However, what's your impressions about this Premium Format?

Im pretty underwelmed. its ok but the prototype looked far superior. The paint is not good.

I am happy with the overall appearance and the head sculpts, although I didn't get him all assembled after seeing that he was going to need to go back.
