meh while I get what you’re saying and I agree for the most part it’s a great looking fun SW game and since i’m not in it for competitive reasons i’m just going to sit back and enjoy while some choose to give themselves an aneurism over it.

Enjoying SW game with my son > Videogame outrage

To each their own but maybe there is another game you could enjoy with your son instead of supporting this crap.

I've enjoyed what I've played so far from the EA Access trial, but I do think it's very stupid to have things there that give you an advantage, even if you couldn't pay money for loot crates I don't necessarily have enough time to earn upgrades as many other people and they will simply have an advantage over me for it. It would be better to unlock things that don't necessarily give an advantage but just give a different experience. It'd also be nice if there were some kind of cooperative multiplayer mode--that's why things worked with the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, it had loot crates as well but since it was cooperative it wasn't giving you an advantage over anyone since it benefits the people you play with.
I'm still buying the game, since it's worth it for what I will play there, but I won't ever spend money on loot crates

Think about it though...ALL these people complaining to EA. All in that Redit thread for example. All of them, at first, are willing to pay or grind (thus buying and playing), just not for that much.

So now that EA has reduced stuff by 75%...guesstimation-wise, I assume 75% of the people are still willing to pay 20 bucks or play for 10 hours as opposed to 80 buck or 40 hours.

So out of those bad numbers, I bet they are still going to sell a lot.

This is lame...(From the earlier linked review)
EA doesn’t follow through on the promise of seeing Star Wars from a different perspective. Iden has a big change of heart that completely sucks the soul out of the experience. It ends up becoming a cookie-cutter Star Wars story that is upended even further by lengthy, player-controlled hero cameos.

I was plenty excited for this game and while I know we live in, and can appreciate our capitalist society, I do have a hard time accepting blatant corporate money grabs because the IP is a cash cow. Try concentrating on making a great game first and the rest will fall into place...

This alone should make the game a no buy...ugh.
Soooo wrong.

Played this for a few hours and don’t rate it compared to battlefront 1 at all.

I have yet to go online (no internet) or play the campaign but I don’t rate it compared to BF1. the split screen mode where you face waves of enemies has gone which means me and the Mrs can’t play it, Instead it’s a mode called onslaught which is boring as hell and not tactical at all, it’s mindless, whereas on the last game you’d need tactics to take out the walkers and stuff. You play as luke and it’s boring and just hacking until the time runs out or you kill x amount of enemies.

and the graphics don’t seem as nice looking as the first.

A couple of added heroes are meh.

I only bought this to slash through a load of enemies as luke but that was better on the first.

I will say this the animations on the heroes are spot on, each one moves like they do on screen especially Maul.

As I say I haven’t been online so I’m hoping it comes alive when I do.

Yeah I'm actually enjoying it as well. Played for about two hours last night and earned more than enough credits to buy Darth Vader and get parts to improve boba's jetpack. Without unlocking stuff you have no sense of progression in multiplayer. I understand hating on unreasonable dlc models (best so far looked like Titanfall 2), but this response seems a tad overboard. More to do I think with it being an EA product than anything.

Fortunately people like yourself seem to be in the minority this time round. Haters gonna hate but a fool and their money are easily parted :lol

In the minority this time? Don't let the Raging Nerds on Social media fool you into thinking EA isn't selling this like Hot Cakes. There are a ton of players online when i'm playing :p

Also 'a fool and their money are easily parted' can apply to people paying Hundreds-Thousands of dollars for Statues and Action figures. :p

Like I said, a fool and their money....

Anyway I'm kind of enjoying the dumpster fire this release has turned into. Almost 700k downvotes on reddit and climbing. It's going down in history for all the wrong reasons.

Yeah nothing encourages developers to reach out to the community more than frothing mouth mobs downvoting in between death threats:lol

Nothing excuses the idiot mouth breathers that send death threats, they do more harm but good. I honestly don't think dice wanted to do this but unfortunately they are now the ones that have to defend it.

There are even DICE employees who are actively tweeting in support of the negative fan reaction.

I'm not saying BF2 won't sell like hotcakes, but I guarantee it HAS had a negative impact on sales.

I was on the fence to begin with, and now I'm off it. I'm not buying this game. I was burned on BF1. Looks like EA didn't learn their lesson.

Oh well, I was on the fence about this game. I decided I'm not gonna buy it. But I did watch a stream of the campaign out of curiosity and... saying it was awful is an understatement.

I'm glad I checked in here before picking up my pre-order, that's $60 that will stay in my pocket!

Good man :goodpost:

I agree mate but our definition of selling like hotcakes most likely don't align with the EA definition of the term! From all reports Origin support staff are run off their feet dealing with customers wanting a refund.

One of the funniest conversations was posted on reddit along with a screenshot as proof.
The rep inquired as to why the customer was requesting a refund, the customer replied "I'm sure you know why, it's the same reason as everyone else".
The rep just replied "right" and the refund was issued.
