Lol it is absolutely NOT gambling that’s just dumb.
You pay actual money to get random perk or something completely worthless.
Yes, you can actually get nothing of worth for your money, it's NRG.
That's the definition of gambling.

So you've had a blast playing the game in it's current form jye? It looks so freaking awesome.

Khev I promise you you’re going to have a blast playing without having to spend an extra cent after purchase trust me.

YES EA greed is in full view but when was the last time EA forced you to do something you didn’t want?

Exactly!

Let me ask you this let’s say 4K TV picture quality was a competitive sport, and it is for some lol.

The EA Best Buy company sells you and your neighbor a 4K TV with a built in good HDR 10 chip and the superior Dolby Vision HDR chip but they inform you up front that the MSRP only includes the inferior HDR10 chip being active and to unlock the superior Dolby Vision HDR chip it will cost you an extra $100 to experience the full potential and power of the TV.

Your neighbor chooses to not spend the extra $100 and does not unlock the superior Dolby Vision HDR chip but you do and your TV now has an advantage than your neighbors TV and you win with the better picture.

Now did you just gamble your $100 away and get nothing in return from the EA Best Buy company or did you receive a product in return that made your picture better?

With gambling there is no promise of a return on your investment.

Riddick I know you’re smarter than that.

Just because you say what they’re selling is worthless does it make it so.

What might be worthless to you is very valuable for someone else.

Gambling gives no promise of a return.

EA is simply selling you a product.

Huge difference not even in the same universe for crying out loud.

C’mon Riddick I know you’re capable of much better than that please don’t insult my intelligence and more importantly your own which I know you possess.

Sweet. :yess:

I lol'd at that clip from the previous video of the Battle Droids running in a tight pack through Naboo. Now I want a RO style movie told from their point of view, lol.

I crack up everytime i’m either playing as a BD or playing against a BD.

In other words if a BD is on screen i’m cracking up lol

Peaking around a corner and spotting another player as a BD sprinting across a Theed room = LOLZ!

But you're not buying said worthless item are you? No, you open a box which shakes and has flashing lights on the side and random items spill forth.

Will you get what you want? Maybe, maybe not. See the correlation yet? By the way your T.V anology was terrible and literally had nothing to do with the topic.

Anyway I just posted this stuff as a public service announcements of sorts. If you and your son are having fun more power to you, enjoy. I'm off to wait for my iron studios vader waitlist to hopefully convert :peace.

But bottom line you’re still getting a product in return for your investment with gambling you are not 99.9% of the time.

So is Loot Crate now considered gambling too?

If you’re dumb enough to spend on a random purchase like Starcards and Loot Box then you deserve what you get when they sold you a piece of coal lol

But because it’s a random purchase you agreed to do does not automatically make it gambling, it’s still simply a purchase of a product.

Well that is something we both agree on.

Deed believe me i’m no fan of EA either and they do have it coming for them and when it happens i’m not losing sleep over it but going after them with irrational complaints that would never hold up in a court of law under the definitions being used stinks like corporate extortion to me.

2 greeds don’t make a right.

Sheesh just let Khev play some BF2 will ya lol

It’s a really fun game but what an awful progression system. Beyond stupid.

I am pretty torn. I am a huge SW fan so of course I want to play a great looking SW shooter. But I HATE micro transactions and a big part of what keeps me playing a game is progressing my character. The progression system in this game sounds so off putting that it may ruin the game entirely for me.

Technically you do not need to pay beyond the initial purchase price to progress.
So it having microtransactions should not stop you.

And obviously speaking, if you are a "huge SW fan" and want to play a "great looking SW shooter"...I doubt you cant find a better looking SW shooter at this time.

Big ? is (like for me)...do I want to cave in and pay (just for the game :p) now or wait some.

I will prob still wait them out to let them get the always initial patches and whatnot out the way. See what the community says / is a month or so after.

I've unlocked every Hero except Palpatine so far. Almost have the credits for him :)

Looks like cancelling those pre-orders & not purchasing may be paying off: https://twitter.com/EAStarWars/status/931332890717143040

Thank you to everyone in our community for being the passionate fans that you are.

Our goal has always been to create the best possible game for all of you – devoted Star Wars fans and game players alike. We’ve also had an ongoing commitment to constantly listen, tune and evolve the experience as it grows. You’ve seen this with both the major adjustments, and polish, we have made over the past several weeks.

But as we approach the worldwide launch, it's clear that many of you feel there are still challenges in the design. We’ve heard the concerns about potentially giving players unfair advantages. And we’ve heard that this is overshadowing an otherwise great game. This was never our intention. Sorry we didn’t get this right.

We hear you loud and clear, so we’re turning off all in-game purchases. We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing and tuning. This means that the option to purchase crystals in the game is now offline, and all progression will be earned through gameplay. The ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date, only after we’ve made changes to the game. We’ll share more details as we work through this.

We have created a game that is built on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Star Wars Battlefront II is three times the size of the previous game, bringing to life a brand new Star Wars story, space battles, epic new multiplayer experiences across all three Star Wars eras, with more free content to come. We want you to enjoy it, so please keep your thoughts coming. And we will keep you updated on our progress.

The temporary part does have me a little concerned. Still holding off for now. Also probably for the best as I have a check ride coming up, and move onto flying the Kiowa for a little bit.
