I actually don't mind Captain Tarpals as much. He has a cool raspy voice. But of course it's the whole "doo-doo" talk and the wesa mesa yousa that annoys me.

And I think Hasbro is making an updated Naboo Starfighter this year.

When the movie started I cried knowing I had just paid to be molested by Boss Nadds again.

Saw this today. I've never seen a 3D movie before. The previews in 3D got my hopes up, but the actual film was pretty weak. I think the CGI stuff translated to 3D the best. Oh well. At least it was good to see SW on the big screen again. And the new CG yoda was better than the puppet they originally used for this film.

Oh and 3D Jar Jar?? Hell yeah beotches!!!!:rock

I enjoyed it for the sake of it being a trip down memory lane. I saw it a lot during its original theatrical run. I was surprised by the muddiness of the picture at times and some shots didn't look to be in 3d at all. I noticed the 3D more in the Coruscant shots. That being said I'm curious how the conversion of AOTC turns out being that it was shot digitally to begin with and it was more visually complicated.

I was in the 8th grade when TPM came out apparently not old enough to have developed any real tase, but that said given the fact hat I was just young enough to be obsessed with new star wars movies enough I saw this movie some 13 times in the theatre.

It's a pretty awful film with some truly wonderful things about it.... Much of the character design, Neeson and Mgreggor, Darth Maul and the coolest light saber duel and I always liked the pod race.

For the nostalgia, which makes me feel old to say, I will always have a very special place for the movie... Enough maybe even to make it 14 times see on the big screen

concerning tvs in the bedroom, i think it works the other way around... the larger the screen, the poorer the dude left watching it. much better things to do in the bedroom.

Not if you think like a dude...porn with the chicks ! :lol

Just saw this today. It was nice being able to see it on the big screen. at the time that the PT came out I wasn't a big star wars fan as I am now, and only knew the things most folks new ("luke, I am your father..." and all that) so I didn't really care to see them in theaters, Now that I'm older and have grown to really love Star Wars, it was really great to finally see one of the films on the big screen and really can't wait to see the rest on the big screen as well

I think I'm going to have to see every single star wars release on the big screen... Cheesy 3d gimmicks or not... Star wars is star wars... It commands my money lol

Damn, this movie is so damn crappy. It's a shame too, because it's got such a cool title (Phantom Menace) and Darth Maul. The onluy action scene that I like are the lightsaber duels, even the pod race I was bored with this go around. I got the dvd's, I don't think I will put any more money towards Lucas and his gimmicks...the 3D was pretty bad.

So what you're saying is that your version of TPM would be just the Maul lightsaber scenes. :lol

not quite:)

but keep dialogue and stuff just lose jar jar saying thing like "poo-ey"

reedit the footage to change the interaction with watto so that the jedi "win" annies freedom without him podracing perhaps edit how anakin takes out the droid ship -make it a force led action not an accident

keep the gungans just lost the trip thru the planet core.

sure the film would be short but maybe we could have a bit more of the jedi being dicks and derserving the fall. :hi5:

Panaka is also great in it. Next time you watch it, notice how everything he says is negative (no hope) and how angry he is...

I took my son to the 10 am screening today and was surprised that the large theater was packed. I'm not a fan of 3D films in general, but I have to admite when the 'Star Wars' text flew across the screen during the opening scroll I about nerdgasmed. Judging by the size and enthusiasm of the crowd it is fair to say that the overall discontentment towards this film has been grossly overstated by a select vocal few on the internet.

:rotfl Hardly a select few. People are suckers and were sucked in the first time and now are using this movie as a replacement for their kids watching Spongebob's Square pants, so of course they like it. But polishing a turd with 3D doesn't change what it is or what the majority of fans think of it. Also, nostagia factor doesn't equal common sense. Some people that hate it will see it just to say they saw it in 3D.

Had a chance to see this movie twice this weekend for free. I passed both times.

Anyone know what they were hoping to make this weekend? It was fourth but it still made like $23 mil.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but TPM is not that bad...and the 3D was not bad either...What was bad about the 3D? It sucked me into the film and made it look that much crisper and nicer IMHO....

Yes, there are parts of the movie that I didn't like, if I had my way I would re-write the Maul death scene to have him leave Obi Wan for dead and be the antagonist Sith enforcer in Ep II as well and have him die in Ep II, but oh well...

Just because I don't like the whole movie doesn't make it crap...I thoroughly enjoyed it...AND LOOOOOVED THAT THEY USED CGI YODA INSTEAD OF THE PUPPET!!! WIIIINNN!!! :yess:
